The Big Bang theory is an effort to explain what happened at the very beginning of our universe. Discoveries in astronomy and physics have shown beyond a reasonable doubt that our universe did in fact have a beginning.

I very much doubt that!!!laugh

NOW- Let me get this right!!!!confused

In order for anything to react there has to be some form of reaction, like a chemical reaction, to cause a BIG BANG!!! even a little bang.laugh

If that’s the case than Einstein’s theory of relativity becomes irrelevant if there were compounds prior. confused

So you might come up with a clever answer…”like, but there was ENERGY”!!! grin

OK. so where does the theory or an idea that the universe was no bigger than a match head of solid matter come from? confused

See, for me it doesn’t work!!! I think science needs to come up with a better theory.dunno

I love that show! I think it's one of the best shows on TV. I identify mostly with Sheldon.

Ooooooooooooooooooh I love it too! I can actually sing the theme song to it!!

Love Sheldon and Penny!! They are my favorite on there. But then it is a great cast of characters with their own idiosyncrasies!! Very good show!

Thought that was what this thread was about was the show.... mumbling

I think a bunch of Italians, deep in an underground lab, far away from cosmic rays, only weak amounts getting through, are examining the possibility that there is indeed another explanation to the Big Bang Theory.

They have been able to challenge the speed of light and found that there is something that can travel faster(mind you, the teeeeeniest amount). Only very few places where they can test this, because of the cosmic rays contamination, so it does restrict its study a bit.

The phrase they used was 'nothing can travel faster than the speed of light' and then explained that since space is made of mostly nothing much of it could travel faster.

Im saying it doesn’t make sense since some form of reaction is necessary. So if energy at the speed of light squared causes a very small amount of matter. Perhaps matter turned into energy at the speed of light squared and it was an error on Einstein’s behalf.

What planet are you on man ? The church doesn't ' think ' ....laugh

Agree, I can't imagine there being nothing either. I like the idea about a sudden release of energy coming about by the interaction and near collision of two other bubble universes.

thumbs up .... Science needs ideas to pursue, investigate and test Pedro.

Things don't just fall into their laps out of thin air you know.
