what half of you fail to realise is these assylum seekers are escaping Muslim waring countries.
They are fleeing the death and persecution and seeking a safe life for themselves or families.
At present we don't go into these countries and fly people out to Aus. who are beeing persecuted or about to be wiped off the face of the planet in some Rawandan styled genocide.

and what the other half like you fail to comprehend they are escaping from Muslim waring countries so they don't get killed by Christian bombs

Mean while NATO

In an interview with TRT television on Sunday, Mr Davutoglu asserted that the unarmed F-4 Phantom had entered Syrian airspace by mistake on Friday but had left by the time it was shot down several minutes later.

"According to our conclusions, our plane was shot down in international airspace, 13 nautical miles (24km) from Syria," he said.

According to international law, a country's airspace extends 12 nautical miles (22.2km) from its coastline, corresponding with its territorial waters.

Mr Davutoglu also insisted that the jet had not been on a "covert mission related to Syria" but had instead been carrying out a training flight to test Turkey's radar capabilities.

bubbles2012: Errr Hello, my family are British 10 pound poms... they worked friggin' hard and they paid their taxes... The biggest insult I got when applying to the Armed Forces was that I had to take an oath of alligiance to the Queen - huh??? and I had to surrender my British passport = that didn't worry me - didn't have one was on my parents...

I can't believe your comment - I lived in an immigration centre with our European cultlures, Germans, Norwedgians, Swsiss - I went to the same school as them... we Poms are much more adaptable to multiculturism than you by the looks of things... we didn't have a choice we had to integrate... go pick on others... Talk about racial warfare, seems every other nation can have empathy, but the poms... sod off!!!

Post Script

I know my bloodline and I am damn proud of it -

however many of you so called australians can say you're a 10th + pommy coal miners daughter... oh yeah... my father was down the mines at the age of 14 until we immigrated to Aus....

I think any transition from another country is going to be difficult.
However the odds are a lot easier if you do come from an English speaking country with the same Christian type beliefs.

Martia: I was a ten Pound Pom Rob and we worked hard and paid our taxes for over 35 yrs proud to have an Aussie Citizenship and never out of work in that time.

I take deep offence to people like you who are not even Australian themselves, damn cheek of you... in fact take everyone with British blood in them out of Aus and see what would be left.

You who never stops whinging about and fighting everyone in authority and where has it got you??? you say you are a Buddist well dear Sir you certainly do not practice their beliefs do you... for instance take PRAJNA.. wisdom will emerge if your mind is pure and calm,
they believe all creatures are equal....what a gentle and kind Religion it is' maybe if you had followed that belief you would be in a much better position in your life.

Rob the core of you is one very angry and frustrated man with a big chip on his shoulder who cant move on,I found out the hard way that justice does NOT prevail' I could have let it eat away and destroy me but realised in the end the only one who would suffer would be me and the powers that be would not give a diddly squat.

I picked myself up put it behind me and got on with my life.

Now I await the barrage of anger from you' but you sir have insulted me and no way did I ask for it.

my grand parents and there parents were aussies, the point i am making is there shouldn't be any discrimination against others, is a pity you didn't leave your whinging pome traits behind when you came here.
In every other respect to your reply martia as usual your talking crap

My ex was a pomme. Only whinging she did was that she had to put up with her whinging parentsrolling on the floor laughing

I agree Rob, if they don't like it here, go back where they came from. Watched a thing on Current Affairs many years ago about pomme ($10) immigrants who were on the NSW Central Coast. Hated the BBQs every weekend, people wanting to be friendly, too much sun. So went back to Dear Old Blighty. And hated the place. But couldn't get the cheap ticket back.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Out of the 1,000s of people I have met over the years from other countries, only a handfull I am aware of would want to go back. These get the publicity. Watch Landline and you will see so many successful people are on the land who are glad they or their parents made the move. And they have funny names.rolling on the floor laughing

Well i think the point i made earlier was it appears a lot of POME are complaining about someone else doing what they did, e.i. coming to Australia...most Aussie's don't carry on in that way, if they did the POME would be hererolling on the floor laughing scold

Probably very Chinese or Vietnamese names?? Probably good farmers, probably grow a lot of the Australian family grown vegetable...

China urges calm after Syria shoots down Turkish jet

Turkish Foreign Ministry Ahmet Davutoglu said the jet had been clearly marked as Turkish and dismissed Syria's assertion it had not identified the aircraft before opening fire.

NATO will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday to discuss the downing of a Turkish jet by Syrian forces, a spokeswoman for the Atlantic Alliance said.

It's funny when Howard was in, he was pushing for offshore detention/detterent.
Now Abbott is against the offshore detention????

I think Abbott is just playing politics as his supporter base is pro offshore detention.

Don't you have any sympathy for the grieving families who lost their loved ones???
90 people just lost their lives + more this morning trying to get what we take for granted - freedom, peace etc...

So what's the solution confused

To tell people to shove off and go back to where they came from confused

I know illegal entry into countries isn't the answer but what is?
