What is your major obstacle when it comes to finding that significant other? (120)

I did not mean to make fun of your situation,...but to merely be happy by being happy! I have certainly been alone and have felt "down",...but then one day, I realized that I must learn to be happy and love myself, to be my own best friend,....and that before others could love me, I had to learn to love myself. I do know that being alone is truly a difficult situation,...but so much of life is about attitude. I do not often admit this,...but I suffer from SAD,...and once used it as an excuse,...but I have taken dramatic steps to fight it,...have gained support from my friends and co-workers, and am finding it so much easier to deal with the fact that the dark days of winter really do affect me! Depression is a powerful thing,....but it can be beat! Smile,....and yes,...I know,...Alberta sort of sucks this time of year!

2intrigued: On this site, distance is a huge obstacle. On local sites, finding someone genuine is a challenge...more of a challenge than I'm willing to put up with. I look at it this way...if it's meant to be, it will be and if not, oh well.

this and also mutual attraction. finding someone who is interesting, shares my values & at least some of my interests, who I am also attracted to and who is even reasonably close in age. men my age want a mommy or a cupie doll. I may go back to younger

Mutual attraction...now there's the zinger. So with this and distance issues, it really does seem like an exercise in futility. Why I open my heart to people who proclaim sincerity but make no effort is beyond me. If they live too far away and have no intentions to pursue anything, why tug at the heartstrings to begin with. It's all a game and I ain't playing.

At least you're being honest about it. Some people are in denial of this so they say their not ready to settle down instead. In actuality, they are living in a fantasy world leading nowhere in particular. Later in life, this becomes a joke.

I know it's unlikely on this site. "International" means Geographical hurdles, like the others have said. Finding someone who shares the same values with similar likes and dislikes is difficult. And of course chemistry plays a large part in compatibility.

A woman big mouth! I have yet to find any woman that doesn't argue and complain. Many said they don't like to argue and complain but so far 3 days is all it took for her to start. so that makes them a liar as well and I can't stand a liar!
Am I perfect, oh HHEELL no! I am polite and mannerly, till bitten, then I bite back.
Yet I can avoid the arguing and complaining for my part.
Also I find it infuriates a woman when she wants to argue and complain if all she gets back is polite manners, well for a time I can.
