What a beautiful experience you have had speaking to this lovely little soul. Reading it pulled at my heart strings as well. heart wings

So young and yet so brave to be facing his fate. Who are we to judge his reality until we are in his shoes. He had a dream in which he was given hope and peace and a reason to put aside his fears of death (the unknown) and who would denigh him that. dunno

The best lessons in faith, humility and innocence come from children who have not yet learnt to be sceptical and cynical of the world.

You did trick us a little bit though Prowler scold .....in that your brave little friend saw God in a dream happy place and not as a flesh and blood human walking along the street. I think we would all have a little trouble beleiving a higher being would present himself as one of us mere mortals.

But what a lovely sad story and I wish your little mate all the very best for his battle ahead and sincerely hope his God will enable the medical profession to find a cure and enable him to live a long and full life. With a experience such as his in his young life he deserves to live.

Thanks for sharing wave thumbs up

PrOwLeR_: and in a softly spoken, relatively calm voice told you he was GoD hisself ... and No!! GoD does not LooK like Morgan Freeman I think .....

Would YoU believe him or would YoU just shun him off ?? ... and for once I am being serious here . I'll tell you why later ...

It would take more evidence than self-confession. Factors that I would consider.

1. Is he after your money? If he prefers the leisure and luxury or the self-sacrifice of one who did claim this and who I believe really is God.

2. Does he really heal people and then disappear not wanting the limelight?

3. Does he talk and dine with those who are shunned and love those who many deem unlovable?

4. Can he walk on water, change the laws of physics and time?

5. Does he point you to his father and say listen to him and not to me?

6. Dies he lay down his life for people who hate him?

If he does all these things, then maybe I might give him the benefit of the doubt. If not, then he is probably a scammer or self-delusional...

My Son was 3 1/2 years old when he died from a brain tumour, the day before he died he was sitting in his high chair, and started laughing and pointing and talking to someone who none of us could see, when we asked him who he was talking to he said, "Aunty Karen", Aunty Karen had died 6 months earlier, i have never been a believer as such but this really made me think that perhaps we really don't know everything there is to know, It kind of gives me comfort to think that maybe Karen came to help him on his way, like i said i'm neither here nor there about religion but i guess we won't know forsure until our time is up., So if a bloke walks up to you in the street and says he's god, well just maybe.......

PrOwLeR_: I would ask LiLee why he would not walk up to lil ole you ?? and what better thing than talking to you could he be doing ...
So again I am fishing here for the moment ... of all the atrocities men and woman have committed over time, serial killers, savage and brutal rapists, people like Idi Amin, we could not say then they were the devil hisself here on earth, just pure evil ???

It seems we remember acts of cruelty a lot more vividly then we recall acts of kindness ... I met a child late last week dying from a blood cancer of some type .. nearly ten with a death sentence ... He told me as much as he wants to live, he knows he wont, he also told me he is not only in the doctors and nurses care, God told him in a dream that he is also in his care and not to be scared ..Reading what I have read up there the kid must also have mental issues for believing God has spoken to him, or he is just delusional because their is no God ... Yeah Merri I was touched and moved by a brave little Angel ... so I figure if a man walks up to me in the street and proclaims to be God hisself, I'll at least pay him the courtesy of allowing him to convey what it is he wants to tell me ...

I don't think it can hurt to listen ... can it ??Cheers and thanks for you comments ....

Poor little mite... If he can take comfort and solace in believing that God spoke with him.. then there is nothing wrong with that..I think most people want to believe that there is a higher being that cares for them...especially when life is nearing the end.. it's only natural...

How sad that you lost your little boy justjim. No parent should ever have to go through loosing a child. I cannot imagine how that must feel but I empathise. There would be no greater human grief, I don't think. sad flower

You are right in what you say.....none of us will ever know what lies beyong death until our time is up.

But if thoughts and feelings give comfort to those passing and those left behind then it can only be a good thing, don't you think.

That's how I'd like to see it anyhow. dunno

There are a lot of precious people in our lives. No what age they are when they are no longer with us in many senses, they do have an impact on us.

Having a faith of any sort does provide a comfort to so manyteddybear

there are differing views, some people look deep into reality
in small part example:
At different times, we experience the suffering of birth, death, old age, and sickness. No matter how much medicine we take, we cannot cure old age and we cannot prevent ourselves from ever becoming sick at all. The sufferings of birth, sickness, old age, and death have their sources in the fact that we have bodies that undergo birth, sickness, old age, and death. Our bodies are networks of tainted (contaminated) aggregates. In other words, we receive them tainted with karma and disturbing emotions and attitudes. If we do not rid ourselves of their deepest cause, we will always have suffering.

I often wondered the same thing hypothetically that is. Lets entertain the thought for a moment that god does exist, who would believe him to be the real deal? I doubt any religion would or any individual. I even doubt the hardest of Christian believers would drop to their knees and say yes god, I am one of your devoted servants.

How do I know this? because it is me your god. grin

Iā€™m not a believer myself in god that is, but I do see one of the greatest miracles beyond human comprehension everyday ā€œ life.ā€ The same particles that make the whole universe also becomes living tissue that experiences itself and the whole universe for a split second. If life is possible then nothing is impossible.

every one was invited to offer there views and i've posted mine, your comments are interesting, quite silly i think shows you didn't carefully consider the hundreds of thousands (well over a million) John Howard and co indirectly murdered, yoru reply seems to my mind simplistic

and don't think i didn't try to explain to John Howard why he wouldn't continue engaging the carnage from a Buddhist viewpoint, because i did, I wrote clear explanation why he would reconsider and he choose instead to be deeply offended.

I respectfully wrote to him on 23 April 2004

To those who have lost their children, my deepest sympathies rose

And to those who don't understand 'faith', don't try to, just leave it with those of us who take comfort in it during the sad and stressful times that happen in life.

Rob I find this an astonishing remark from someone who follows Buddhism?

Do you not consider that a form of faith?
