CuspofMagic: No one will stop the boats , who is anyone kidding...things are bad in the world - borders are closing for some reason.. people want a better life and to go to thesre extremes... Think about it instead of getting caught up in trivial justifying rhetoric

What i seriously don't understand is, it is expensive for them to come in on boats, probably more so than the legal way, so why isn't it done legally without putting children in danger.

tonyxf: Well why not fight back, grow some crops get some cows start a business they get plenty of help from the rest of the world, "World vision" and what do they do with their foreign aid money?

A lot of them aren't fighters but hard workers providing for their families and trying to get an education,Aussies farmers are nothing but whingers, they need to get of their asses, they don't have hand outs overseas, if you don't make a buck, your family doesn't get fed. Thats why foreign people do so well here, they work hard, they achieve.

That's a gross generalisation Kristia. Most of the farmers I know are hard workers. I see them harvesting in the middle of the night with the headlights on their tractors. They only whinge when there's a drought.

Not gross but generalization, I am off a property out west, we'd work real hard, Here in Australia, now days there is a lot of help for the farmers but they still have a big whinge. I know its their livelihood, and when hard times come, they don't have a backup plan, yes farm work isn't easy, judging when the rain is coming. Some have the inclination to find other work to keep their farm above water and some would rather have a big whinge.

I do have an issue with this "whinging" bit. My cousin and her husband had a small property where they were raising deer. Great until someone decided to cut down the fences and let them go in the National Park adjoining. Now they have to foot the bill to eradicate the deer. This happened about 5 years ago, I only heard about it 2 days back.

If I go out and shoot these 'feral' deer in OUR National Park, I am looking at a criminal offence because I am trying to eradicate this 'feral' blight.

Most people in our rural communities are there because it is their way of life and they do not know any better way to live. What some call "whinging" is just them stating the facts of life.

Dairy producers must milk their cows twice a day. Every day of the year.

I do hope you enjoy your latte while thinking about how the milk arrived at your table and what the milk producer did to get it there.

From what I have read, they intentionally arrive here without passports and any sort of identification. Who knows why really but two possibilities come to mind. One could be for political reasons and they don’t want anyone to know where and who they are. They have committed a crime.

The ones that do come here with identification get processed within three months and the ones that threw their ID overboard, it takes years and there is no guarantee of ever been accepted.

Well, if there is a Hell, it should be cold. With all the Gays there no one would be game enough to bend over and pick up wood.
