Why do children and women pick –cut- flowers and men do not?
Today I was observing people passing by a “wild garden” in bloom –sunflowers but smaller- and children and women did cut some and did take the flowers with them or did offer the flowers to someone with them.

Why men were not interested in the flowers? Thanks for your comments!
i'm not actually fond of cut flowers, and don't pick 'em either... i like to leave things growing.
having said that..i do have a lot of potted plants, both indoor and outdoor, even a couple trees......most received as gifts. and when i look at them, i do think lovely thoughts of the folks that gave them to me.
if someone who doesn't really know me, gives me cut flowers...i still accept them gracefully and in the spirit they were given (work, exh openings,..) and then usually share them with others.

I was out fishing with my little girl yesterday and picked a few flowers for Her, She loved it.

When I lived outside of the city, I used to pick flowers on the way home in the ditch all the time. It didn't matter what they were, from weeds to daisies, and anything that looked somewhat exotic, including wild roses. It wasn't for anyone else other than myself, just to have fresh flowers on the table, and I do miss it.
Too late in the year to pluck anything out of my neighbour's garden, although I did think about it.
