Kendall42: Wow! I never heard of that. It's so sad. As for stress for Black mothers, I think the only stress I had was the same as any other woman. No sleep, tired, too much to do. The only added thing I had to deal with was people thinking I was the nanny of my own children. That just made me shake my head. Silly people.
It isn't the stress of early motherhood as the deaths are occurring within the hours/days before, or after birth. We're talking still births, or babies dying barely having been in their mother's arms.
One issue I remember being discussed was how black mothers had to watch their older children go through discrimination in the education system and how stressful that is.
Your earlier comment about what your kids might be in store for was the stimulus for me posting about the study.
I spent most of my adulthood looking about 13 years old, so I was often mistaken for my daughter's big sister. Luckily, it was fairly easy to spot we were at least related, although my daughter did once get a bit upset at someone referring to me as 'her little friend'. I was 41 at the time.

I won't lie I think as we get on in years being thought of your kids sister may not be a bad thing.
All in all people have different experiences. For the most part I've been lucky compared to others. I just it holds out.
2girlsnocup: I thought I heard the sound of a barrel being scraped to get to a new low. What does renting a property, serving or employing someone have to do with dating someone? Don't answer. I really can't be bothered with a 20 page interaction with you, as you're as annoying as a toddler who asks "why" all the time.
Have you still not grasped the concept of preference?
rohaan: Thank you Bogart. Thank you thank you thank you. (a problem was attempted to be made against me where there wasn't one, and you added some clarity. You the best, man!)
hi Rohaan
comom sense. kind of difficult these days. as you said, "We don't all like the same things". and thats one of the best qualities we have.

rohaan: you have such a way with words.
Sometimes when dealing with rather special people, it's best to be straight to the point. Look upon it as when speaking to a local when abroad, for some odd reason, raising your voice seems to be the best translation method.

That always makes me laugh!
As if shouting at them will miraculously make their command of English better!
