It doesn't have to be in sync with mine, but it should at least have some merit, as in somewhat educated, and not emotive.

Comparing subsistence living to cannibalism is beyond any measure of decency.

It was part of the debate - because you said that the Inuit hunted for survival and it was a tradition and a way of living.

I said that cannibals also did the same thing, it was part of their heritage to hunt and kills humans as a way of survival, and tradition. So that the argument that the Inuits had the right was not necessarily a valid reason because one way was ok and the other not.

That was the point I was trying to make -

kidatheart: Nope, no anger issues either, I just speak my mind, and that seems to offend some people's delicate sensibilities.

Oh well, deal with it.

It's not a question of people's "delicate sensibilities" being offended,it's just a matter of manners frankly, which sadly you seem to be lacking in. sigh

Glitch101: 144 countries voted in favour of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, Canada was one of the four countries who voted against it (although Harper did eventually back down and sign on)

- See more at: even your own country is anti Inuits.

As I said earlier in the thread, write little Stevie, see where that gets you. The federal and provincial governments here have a long history of mistreating the Indigenous population of this country.

So any suggestion that the government should do more for them, is really a joke. If people actually knew the conditions some of them lived in, they might change their stance on hunting, then again, maybe not. Not everyone has the luxury of having a giant grocery store at the corner, and many don't want it.

If people would actually take the time to educate themselves before they start typing, things would be a whole lot different on here. roll eyes

Better yet, get to know some of them and ask them personally, I have friends I've known since early childhood, and have heard the stories of residential schools, starvation on reserves, etc., first hand, not out of a book, or on the net, TV.

I admit, I am rude at times, as I previously mentioned in the thread, and gave the reason for it.

At least a few people are paying attention now, maybe some good will come out of after all. grin

I do consider my self educated thank you.

What I may not be totally aware of is all the problems in various country's at one given time.

I have already stated both here and actually in the Greenpeace thread where once again you called upon my lack of knowledge, that I support the Inuits way of life.

We only have to look at the Native American Indian to see what befell them in their pursuit of traditional ways, and see the same pattern forming unfortunately. You can't keep people in boxes if they are not used to that way of life.

My only and ,I consider ,reasonable argument on this entire thread is the unnecessary killing of a wild animal for sport.

That I will never agree with.

Well, you do seem to have the ability to learn, and I do respect that.handshake

As for sport hunting here, I don't have a problem with that, the animal doesn't go to waste. Every hunter I know goes out for the entire experience, even if they don't fill their tag. I guess you might have to grow up in the environment to appreciate it, understand it fully. It's not all about killing.

Heard guns going off all around me today as they shoot game birds. I live where people hunt for sport unfortunately, and the birds are especially bred for it. Big money in it unfortunately.

My dog hates the sound of the guns. The pheasants come into my garden to avoid the hunters.laugh

You should stick one of those pheasants into the oven, especially if it's well fed.grin
