2girlsnocup: Hunting for sport would be hunting just for the sake of it. Not to eat the meat or anything like that. Just because they want to go out and prove their manliness by killing something.

How is killing something entertaining? Only a psychopath would believe hunting is something to be done for fun.

I guess some could certainly look at eating road kill as gross. However, bumper banquets are allowed, even promoted, by laws in numerous States today. Some State highway patrol people alert food banks of available (fresh) road kills.

I think a cat does it for sport and or amusement sometimes. Maybe the killing just happens as an afterpaw.... oops.

I don't hunt much any more. I has it's purposes.
I think if it were banned as a sport, I could live with that.
Keep in mind that occasionally there is an over population of a species here and there, disease afflictions, and other hunting might be required to thin them out. If they can't be used for food, fertilizers, or what ever; trophy hunting would be a possibility. It's a side note that may need allowances made.

If I could find another way to get that deer out of it's coat and into the freezer, and later on to my plate, I would. I don't enjoy the kill, but it is a part of it.
