Hunting for sport or for "fun" is in my opinion disgraceful, fox hunting is sick, how very brave of those on horseback to chase a frightened animal to death with the aid of a pack of dogs..They keep talking about banning it here in england, but it never happens..The government doesnt like to upset the wealthy who partake in this cruelty....only my opinion though.....uh oh

kidatheart: If I could find another way to get that deer out of it's coat and into the freezer, and later on to my plate, I would. I don't enjoy the kill, but it is a part of it.

Indeed.

I guess it's a matter of what is the primary drive. To eat, or to kill.

Fair point my friend and definetely a valid point, there is a farm to the rear of my home and i know the farmer well,,he had the very problem you mention, happened a few times...his answer was to make his chicken coops as secure as he could to combat this...and he has done so quite succesfully...When it comes to this situation the fox is acting out of pure instinct, unlike the horses and hounds brigade...They do this because they enjoy it....But they dont have to do it....handshake

Yes, take Churchill and his dog for instance...true on both counts.
