For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.
The only difference between alcoholics and non alcoholics is that the latter has a disease of the body and mind and is a progressive ..
It is an addiction.
Alcoholics drink for the same reasons as anyone else ,some do for the effects, the taste, the only difference is the former become addicted to it and their lives have become unmanagble.
Like with most addictions recovery means staying away from the one ,,,total abstinence.

Sorry about that.
Recovery means taking responsibility for oneselfs without using excuses and being defensive for the reasons why they drank..it also causes suffering to those that are close to them.
Recovery is made easier by sharing experiences,,,and helping fellow alcoholics that want to help themselves also,..one day at a time,, dosnt matter if one was off drink for years and years one still takes it one day at a time,
stanley8m: Alcoholic hell is being stuck beside an ex drinker at a party, and having them make disapproving glances at you every time you raise your glass.
Conrad73: must be raising that Glass rather often!
I do like to let the hair down on occasion. But, would people frown at a fat person munching into another French Fry, in the same way they disapprove of someone having a few drinks? Would it be wrong to say, "hey fatty, go easy on the burgers."
Not really. I used to. 10years ago, on a Friday evening at 8:30 like now, I'd either be out getting a skinful into me, or getting ready to go out,
Yea some people start out normal drinkers, have a laugh get drunk ,know when they had enough ,,no hangover next day,
For an alcoholic it can progress at a very slow pace,, people don't have to drink everyday either to be an alcoholic , some binge, some get progressive from that , some people have problems managing their lives right from the start of their drinking.
