Harryonline: These books served its purpose at the time, long ago, to control the masses/the "lost sheep". It has its uses if used for good...but that may infringe on someone out side of that particular religion, where it causes them trouble from it.

All I know is there ain't none of us gettin' outta here alive. The reference of life after death is meaning the soul which never dies. The body we inhabit during our stay here on the physical plane of consciousness dies and with it the ego (your consciousness at the level of the brain) but through spiritual growth while here we can elevate our consciousness to a higher plane (hopefully to the level of soul).

It took almost three hundred years before John Paul Sartre saw something in that statement that Descartes and everyone else had missed. His statement was much closer to the truth..."The consciousness that says 'I am' is not the consciousness that thinks."
Ironically though, Sartre was not aware of the true significance of his own statement.
