Drove home after being out for the day and visiting a friend when my car gave trouble. Dashboard went black, car didn't start again (someone wanted to check if some switches were gone and car had to be turned off). Started again after a battery charger was put on, but then the car completely died halfway on the way home.
This was one of the lovely moments when it hits home that my family is far away and I don't have a partner I can rely on. Send out a few texts messages if by any chance someone was out and about in that area, but no luck. Another friend rang, said don't move, came all the way out, got the car started, drove behind me to leave the car at the garage and dropped me home.

was sitting in the car and a lot of things went through my mind. The way it went it hopefully won't be a big thing, but if I would have needed to get a taxi home, organise towing at a place that is a long way away and me not having a car, it would have been a big job. I just hate asking and having friends going out of the way big time to help me, but then, I would do (and have) done the same. Sometimes just to ask for help is the right thing to do.
