platosha: I never been in India but I saw many documentary videos about different crimes that are happening currently in India against women.. honor killings are still there, rapes, s*xual harassment, plenty woman marrying older men and when they become widows they are thrown out of the society, basically in the streets.... acid throwing,, dowry killings.. and female infanticide..when they selectively abort female fetus,, as a daughter born in the family seen as a burden... Do according to the information available there is big time discrimination of women in India, mostly in rural arrears..

I already said above women are given more rights politically i.e rights given by govt. to make their condition stronger and whatever you mentioned above categories as crime/punishable offense here.

I used to be a feminist. People tried to down me in everything and place. Mainly men and women ducking up to them.
I Stan on my own to feel. Liston to constructive advice and propose a mid way.
Feminists r stronger than men as they have to fight all the way to get somewhere in life. Since men feel to be all and end all of everyone and thing

i don't seem to be able to find 'feminism' on Maslow's scale...though he does mention with psychological needs to be met, there needs to be a sense of love and belongingness (which includes intimate relationships and friends). He also mentions esteem needs, and fulfillment needs. and i imagine being treated equal may certainly contribute to that. (grin).
as for 'victim'.... what's that got to do with feminism? please explain this. i don't understand the connection between feminism and victim. thank you.

My feminism does not include men in a personal capacity, but where I have to deal with men at work or socially, they r just like anyone else, of as much importance as only u urself allow.

So let me ask everyone this. Would you not agree that inequality exist throughout the animal kindgdom?
I know that we like to exempt ourselves from the animals however, I believe that we are a member of that group.
With that said, we are not all equals and those who feel that we should be are asking the rest of us to be unnatural.
I do not complain because a woman makes more money than I, nor should I. Don't get me wrong, men generally make a higher wage doing the "same" work as women but have you taken into account the possibility of tenure, responsibilty, knowledge of the job, productivity, etc. etc.?
What I am getting at is generally speaking no two jobs are "exactly alike and no two people are exactly alike. I believe that we all have the same opportunity to be successful, or do we?
I know that we like to exempt ourselves from the animals however, I believe that we are a member of that group.
With that said, we are not all equals and those who feel that we should be are asking the rest of us to be unnatural.

equality does not exist. here, there,or anywhere. at times, there is equal opportunity, but as people, no we are not equal.
though there are many instances where men and women make equal pay for equal work, i do believe there are still some hangers on from the era when men were paid more because 'they supported a family". i was fortunate, i have always been paid independent of gender, receiving equal pay for equal work. as well, i have been fortunate to have had opportunities to participate in education beyond high school. i am aware that this was a blessing, as there wasn't really anything 'equal' about it.
i also believe that women can have tenure, responsibility, knowledge of the job, and productivity.
