Krinka: I've been thinking about these two options, too...
I generally don't like to watch prequels of films and series...
They usually don't be as good. Seen a short trailer for a movie based on Han Solo in his younger days before the events in the movies. I wasn't excited at all.

I didn't know about that one...
I'm a big STAR TREK fan, I watched all movies and series a couple of times, until 'Star Trek - Enterprise'. I started, but couldn't continue... I simply don't like prequels. I haven't even tried to watch 'Star Trek - Discovery' for the same reason...
However, I'm thinking of returning to STAR TREK Universe, starting from 'The Original Series', until the newest one, after I finish watching STAR WARS.
I find watching STAR TREK in the evening before going to sleep quite relaxing.

Star Trek - with the captain kirk its all gut feelings...with Mr Spok its all logic...a winning combination. I read they hated each other off screen.

From TOS to Voyager, I can mentally play every episode in my mind. What turned me from Enterprise was it was weird with all this temporal stuff happening during a time when humanity knew little about such events yet they handle it better than any other series. I couldn't get into it. I watched 2 episodes of Discovery but I just couldn't handle what they done to the Klingon's faces.
Of course I also seen all the movies First Contact and Wrath Of Kahn are my two favorites.
the first six star wars movies told a story and made sense, but the two new one's made no sense at all and no genuine star wars fans care about them...we have seen the same thing happen to ghostbusters and doctor who...the feminists ruin everything they touch and their one goal is to empower women and make men look inferior
...don't waste your money and stop funding their agenda

Really? I didn't know that...
My first encounter with STAR TREK was with 'Star Trek - The Next Generation' - still my favourite one.
I believed that it would be our future - living on the starship and exploring other galaxies. Unfortunately, we are far from it...

I especially liked the films with 'Star Trek - The Next Generation' crew.
I decided to watch everything - from the beginning till the end - including 'Enterprise' and 'Discovery'. I've watched so many new science fiction series lately I didn't like much - so I can endure these, too, I think.

I didn't watch the new 'Ghostbusters'. The old film was funny, but the new one has pretty bad reviews.
My favourite Doctors in 'Doctor Who' were David Tennant and Matt Smith. Peter Capaldi is a good actor, but - somehow - I just couldn't accept him as the Doctor. I almost gave up watching in the middle of the last season... I'm not sure about this new female doctor... It's a little weird. With David Tennant and Matt Smith there were always some love stories involved. That part was missing with Peter Capaldi. I don't know what they will do now...
DoubleFantasy: It was ahead of its time with civil rights with the first black women in a well known family show - and it was equal rights for an alien too!
I liked the TV episodes and the film that struck out for me was "Search for Spok" it was edge of the seat stuff!
STAR TREK deals with many interesting ideas, especially the older shows.

Its still Star Trek, even if its bad. The Klingon's in Discovery though is going to take all of your tolerance and acceptance to accept lol.

In those days there used to be a moral of the story in shows in general. Something good i think for youngsters to grow up with.
Mork and Mindy (its a another classic but with a comedy slant in the field of Sci Fi)
The thing with Star Trek - was watching a big screen, in a armchair, with lots of buttons to push and flashing lights...and ordering people around (like Captian Kirk)
It might be a case of "Art imitating life" or did it influence us men much more than we know??
