Track16: Most people like one or the other, not too often liking both. I like both for different reasons.

That's true... I'm more a trekkie. heart1

Did you watch 'Battlestar Galactica'?

DoubleFantasy: In those days there used to be a moral of the story in shows in general. Something good i think for youngsters to grow up with.

Mork and Mindy (its a another classic but with a comedy slant in the field of Sci Fi)

The thing with Star Trek - was watching a big screen, in a armchair, with lots of buttons to push and flashing lights...and ordering people around (like Captian Kirk)

It might be a case of "Art imitating life" or did it influence us men much more than we know??

That's one of the reasons I like Japanese dramas (series). smile They still have that 'moral of the story' and appreciate some old values - friendship, loyalty, etc. smile

I've never heard of 'Mork and Mindy'. I will search for it. smile

I wanted to be like Deanna Troi when I grew up. laugh

More and Mindy was one of my favourites growing up.

But, as with most series, they didn't cancel it on time, the last few were pretty stupid..

Never seen an episode. I only watch Trek and Wars. When I was a kid, we only got 2 channels on tv on the wire antenna and on one of them, Star Trek TOS was a regular show. I can still remember the first time I seen TNG, it was at my aunt's who had cable. It was the episode where the admirals were all took over by mind controlling parasites and the Enterprise comes back to earth to fix things. The first time I seen that phaser make buddy's head explode like that, I was like "wowwwwwww", it was really cool at the time.

There are two series - the old and the new 'Battlestar Galactica'. I don't remember the old one very well, but the new one is pretty good. smile

It's a little dark... I'm not sure if you are going to like it.

'Farscape' also happens in space, on a starship. It's not a bad series, although a little crazy at times. laugh 'Firefly' + the film 'Serenity' are also worth watching. smile

I should try to watch science fiction. I'm sure the lawn would get mowed, and my car an oil change etc... Pretty much anything not involving the telly would have great appeal all of a sudden.

Its not just science fiction, anything involving hobbits or gandolph or that kind of rubbish has no appeal either.

Krinka: That is so true. Many films nowadays (especially science fiction ones) are made for teenagers.

I simply have no courage to watch 'Blade Runner 2049'...

The original is still the best, mind the 2049 does get some good reviews. I thought Avatar was one of the worst sci fi films made although very popular.

Thanks.
