First off element is a Chinese owned company who ships the parts here and has American workers assemble them so they can say their made in the USA. So no surprise they would be posturing with this company. And a 150 jobs being lost! Look at the big picture why don't you.
Second the nuclear plants not being built have nothing to do with Trump or any tariffs.
lots more to it than that

fraud is behind the whole enterprise .

Rachie14: Sometimes I wonder if people look at the consquences of what Trump is doing, rather than applaud his actions.

I really don't believe Trump is actually trying to make America great again. I do see him forcing it into a depression and it has already begun. The farmers, companies like this and I am sure many more to come. These are the hard facts of his actions. The reality is it isn't going to stop at America either.

It's ok folks it isn't going to really hit Trump where it hurts. Unlike the average working person.

Yay for worldwide economy.
People will applaud as long as they aren't the ones losing their jobs and let's hope the fallout of these tariffs doesn't turn into a nightmare for everyone including those worldwide.....looks like it's heading that way...it's just the beginning.

From an article dated July 5, 2018....

"Despite his promising to be “the greatest jobs producer that God ever created” after winning the presidency, Trump’s recent slew of overseas tariffs has led to an increasing number of job losses at home.

America’s largest nail manufacturer, Mid-Continent Nail, became the first company to lay off employees as a result of Trump’s tariffs in mid-June. The Missouri-based company made its nails with steel imported from Mexico, but Trump’s 25% tax on steel dealt a blow to production. Sixty employees lost their jobs, and the whole company—which employs 500—could be out of business by Labor Day, said the Washington Post.

REC Silicon, which produces polysilicon for solar equipment, laid off 100 employees Monday as a “direct result of the ongoing solar trade dispute between China and the United States,” said company officials. The manufacturer has been closed off to the Chinese market since 2014, affecting overall sales. The Washington state-based company has reduced production to about a quarter of capacity due to these trade disputes.

Industry coalitions have warned that tariff increases will cause job losses in the future. The Solar Energy Industries Association estimated that new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration will lead to the loss of 23,000 jobs in the U.S. solar sector. BMW and General Motors each sent letters to the Commerce Department warning that new tariffs could lead to higher car prices and job cuts at production plants. Volvo had promised to hire 4,000 new employees for a new plant in South Carolina, but has said it may have to break this promise as a result of new tariffs.

Harley-Davidson announced it would be moving some of its U.S. production elsewhere after retaliatory tariffs from the European Union raised U.S. motorcycle tariffs from 6% to 31%, adding nearly $2,200 to the average cost of one of its bikes. The company has not said how many jobs will be affected by this move.

U.S. Steel and Century Aluminum have announced it will hire new workers as a result of Trump’s tariffs, creating a combined 800 jobs, but this number is dwarfed by the number that could be lost in the coming months.

While the White House has argued that these tariffs will bring jobs back to the U.S., the U.S. Chamber of Commerce argues in a new campaign that 2.6 million American jobs could be lost as a result of “recent and proposed trade actions by the Trump administration.”

And this is exactly what I am talking about. But it will start impacting other countries as well.

I have come to the conclusion that Trump is more than happy to take on any country, anyone with any authority. Just to flex his own ego.

I am not sure how this makes America look great. But I sure do have a lot of empathy for those affected.

What's with the "low IQ rhetoric" statement? Is there a need to insert an insult when discussing this? scold

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter where the manufacturers get the components to produce products in the US if the bottom line is that an American man or woman is gainfully employed in the US and not living on the dole along with their families? As far as the nuclear plants go, it's not my comment but part of the article I posted so don't shoot the messenger. scold

Rachie14: I agree with you. But I think some of the damage is already done. What took a lot of time to build up. A lot of America's long standing allies I truly believe now no longer trust that relationship.
You're right Rachie, and it's a real shame that he's dissing his allies. Canada has been a close ally with the US and we're neighbours but he doesn't give a damn if he ruins these relationships that were once great. He doesn't care who or what he destroys as long as he gets his way and he's been like that right through his own personal business dealings. He has no conscience.

More lies Bigjb? Mike O'Shaughnessy wholly owns Element Electronics, they never said they MADE tv's in the USA they state clearly "assembled in USA". Seeing as there are no companies manufacturing TV components in the USA it would not be possible to assemble them without buying parts from overseas. China is just one source of those parts. FACTS!!
Sorry if the truth hurtsscold
As for the big picture, the job loses so far are minuscule to what will happen as the trade war lengthens in the next couple of years. Many companies across the world are being affected by these tariffs, time will show the mistake Trump has made.
As for your low IQ jibe, maybe you should take a test, I doubt you would get 99rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Actually, the post is not complete! What about the body counts! There are still so many things people should know. Indeed, she's the biggest unprosecuted criminal in the planet! The reason that people are shouting in most Trump rallies to LOCK HER UP! There are even t-shirts with the print HILLARY FOR PRISON. But Trump is not alone, Hillary's 's protected by the powerful swamp creatures, the Deep State, The shadow government, the politicians involved in corruption like her!!doh

JoyCrest: Trump is actually hated because he's not a politician. Politically incorrect, he can expose corruptions at the risk of his life. He's a businessman and his last career was a celebrity businessman hosting a highly rated TV show THE CELEBRITY APPRENTICE where he got at least a million dollar per appearance. His Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame was vandalized first, when he announced his candidacy for President, and again when he was elected. He was not hated before, that's why the pu**y Gate Scandal from access Hollywood was released to tarnish him before election! But Americans were smart enough to vote for him!!

There is a concentrated orchestrated effort to put him out because he is an obstruction to the scamming of America, the New World Order. The shadow government, the Military Industrial Complex, the Deep State are not for him at all. An outsider, he cannot be a puppet like Bush, Obama or Clinton.
He's hated because he is a bully, he's hated because he lies and guillble people like you will dismiss his lies. Whilst of course being a country that supports tax havens for the rich.

So the trade wars don't matter to you. It will to the average person in the world who is just trying their best. Whilst of course busting their balls to get by. How could you possibly understand?

Oh right because we'll deflect and keep looking at Hilary and blame her for everything. It's done, start living in the present and focus on how all this will impact the future economy.

Funny, entertaining hearsay idle talks, gossip stuff! These are the things media want you to be busy on concentrating!

Why not read the history of the ILLUMINATI, look at the documentary of CIA whistle blower Kevin Ship, the story behind the DEEP STATE and the Shadow Government. Don't be blinded with twisted stories, read facts!doh

I think you believe in the banana republic controlled media....I don't blame you, the MSM projects all the things on Trump in a bad light. There is an economic crisis all over the world! Trump is hated for his protectionism, but the media, the presstitutes are all paid by the crooked establishment.

NO President in my lifetime was hated like him because of the efficient powerful media campaign. If Hillary was elected, she with the establishment will create war... this means money for them and they don't care about the people or peace!,sad flower

Funny that, some of us actually live the realities of life. Are aware of the consquences on others.

How are those rose tinted glasses looking? No man in my book loves creating drama, no man in my book lies and no man in my book is respected for being a bully. Preaching to other countries, blackmailing them if they go against his choices they will pay the price.

Still think he's great? Oh right we need to decide which party someone supports to see what is great about them. So I'll remind you, he was a democrat when it suited his businesses. But hey we'll switch to run for office. My campaign manager is a great guy, until he is no longer working for me and my lawyer is a respectable guy, until he no longer works for me.

Sorry I forgot should I say I mis spoke so my whole country doesn't realise what I am? But funny some American's do, funny the rest kf the world sees it too.

When someone like you falls in line with a group of people who make it their sole purpose to bash a President of the United States who is doing great things for US and the world, things that every other President should have been doing.
You don't seem to be able to think for yourself. The group typically makes up untruths and spreads dis-information. You and the group don't seem to be able recognize or even care about the truth.
So what other conclusion could I come to given what you do.
I have a bit of advise for people like you. Wake up!!!! Do yourself a favor, bust your hump, seek out the truth, educate yourself and up your IQ.
The first step would be to abandon liberal ideas and open your mind so you could see the world as it really is. professor
