...in profiles, or guiding the lilly ... I've long believed a balance of fact, humor and intregue were profile touchstones... That said, how many people have come undone through a lack of transparency as communication and perhaps that first meet/date arrives... I for one don't want to have to defend something 'that I may have to rely on in a court of law', so to speak... This topic can just as well apply to job interviews and CV's...
Mercedes_00: I don't take any notice of profiles or what bs is said about themselves.
I make no assumptions here... If you're not just here for the forums (and I know some are), what do you use a a measuring stick for contacting people... The profile is a person's market stall, a chance to sell themselves...

hmmm interesting. I wouldn't ever sell myself. Are you saying your cheap . The measuring stick I feel is respect of others. Like actual respect like in real life's living way. Nothing to do with $.. I'm promoting through just being myself.

Although it is not ideal, sometimes it is all we have got to go on here. An interesting, witty, profile definitely piques my interest. Whereas if they have 'I'm new here, please go easy on me...lol' , I tend to go meh

I think we sell ourselves in our daily interactions with others, knowingly or not, and I know plenty of occasions where I've 'bought the person' at the same time as I've bought the product or service... I don't think I could respect a person who wasn't truthful, I like to know the key of the land, good, bad or otherwise... Am I cheap?, if you're buying what I'm offering, no, I'm good value...but if you're looking for a rolls royce on a Ford focus budget, best move on...
