Tulefell: Yay or nay?

To women: have you ever made the first move on a dating site? What was the result?

To men: a woman made the first move: your reaction, if any?
why not.

Yes, but not from anyone I was interested in that was also close enough for me to take to dinner.

Offline it's happened with women I thought were only interested in friendships.

Sometimes we miss the signals.

What signals you wouldn't miss? Asking as I do approach men when I find it appropriate.

The problem is that women are far more subtle than men, and assume that men can read their signals, when often they can't.

I see no way around this.

Hint: women never assume. They know for certain what they want.

A woman approached you - go for the date. She wouldn't do it, if she wasn't certain.

As signal!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

You are missing the point, which is that women are prone to not "approach you" but instead send of some kind of subtle signals that they want the man to approach them.

The problem is that men often don't understand, and women therefore think the man is not interested.

It's neither mens' fault nor womens' fault - it's just that things get "lost in translation".

Crowd his space a little.

Touch his arm.

Walk closely with him, like you might on a date.

When handing him something, just squeeze his hand a bit.

Here's a pretty innocent one that doesn't tell me she's into me necessarily, but gives me permission to crowd her space a little and gauge her reaction if I'm interested in her.

Just a playful shoulder nudge or lean when you're walking.

Of these the most unmissable is the subtle hand squeeze with eye contact.

I agree. Some men don't pick up signals.

Ok, you mean signals in the real life. That's a subject for itself. I rather meaning woman makeing the first move on line. You've got a letter, it's a signal enough, isn't it? Difficult to miss.

Well... if she's laughing at your jokes or listening to your tales: that's a sign of interest.
