GingerGee: What attracts and what keep you together are totally different things.... mostly.

I read today though that people who end up single, in old age, are mostly well educated or clever women, and widowed men. Makes you wonder if well educated and clever women are not attractive, and why that might be...
Well, widowed men, had a once off love, we assume.
Well educated, clever women, if not off limits to men, they are just more picky, and don't forget the toy boys.

galrads: Well educated women are always attractive, especially if they are physically unattractive. I’m well educated and long widowed. Guess I’m hopeless. Way. But what does clever have to do with anything?
You must be into Margaret Rutherford types then. Yeah, I wondered that too, about the cleverness or education. It is one of the more recent studies, can't remember offhand who by, but it checked all aspects of character and lifestyle in relation to ending up alone, and those were their findings. I wondered if maybe some men might be intimidated by clever women, or think, perhaps that they might be too argumentative?

Not all educated people make a good company...
Intelligence lacking character is worse than simpler but wholesome person...

pKrema: Hmmm, let's say it is already present and the other one is emotionally starved...not a good combination...
You get bachelors and spinsters, some are exceedingly brainy, and have Nothing emotionally wrong with them. Most never marry. Some had been married shortly, and have found it a gruesome mistake. Explain this phenomena?

I have found , when trying to assess my feelings a lot is going on that i don't address on a concious level, some attraction and decision making seems to be going on sub conciously, I wonder sometimes if love is decided at that level. I don't really care, if it works don't fix itlaugh laugh heart wings

Who's evaluating the emotional availability in these cases?!

Are you saying less well educated women are less picky when it comes to partners?

Education, does not necessarily mean Intelligence. Why do you find people marrying below their status, or keep on endlessly getting married to the next and the next.
You find that with anyone, regardless of intelligence. Educated women, sometimes knows less than the others.

Educated women knowing less than their uneducated counterparts hardly makes sense...... In fact that makes no sense at all.

To have a well functioning relationship you need to know some things from experience or things that come naturally to you...
Education doesn't make you a better partner...and that's why a man would prefer a woman who knows how to be a good partner than a woman who "knows best"...

So are you saying that educated people don't have experience of how to be a good partner? It would be interesting here, to know what kind of experience you are talking about, and how one gets this kind of experience, that apparently less-well schooled people seem to have naturally....

Are you saying has intelligence has nothing to do with attraction? The survey said it definitely does.

I would never date a left winger....unless she converted to my rational way of thinking...I never said I was right wing...but I know for sure I'm not left wing and oppose so much about left wing politics
