We actually have a law like that in this country.
I did not know that you do, in Canada. But why am I not surprised? You can take the kids to the "pot shop" in between the post office and the deli, but you can't smoke tobacco in front of them.

I don't think its law everywhere, just local districts. Its law in places in America too.

If people paid attention to how much profit governments make off of cigarettes (when it only costs a few cents a pack to make them, and the government gets the rest); the dumb laws wouldn't exist. Pot smokers have a lot of tax to look forward to.

well, we have a law here that if you climb over a fence, you're trespassing.
So kids of an aquaintance of mine were playing soccer on the street and their ball landed on the wrong site of a fence, it was sunday, and the company was closed. So one of the kids climbed over the fence to get his ball, the police just passed and gave him a penalty, he had to do some social work for about 16 hours, even though he was only 12.

In this case you mention, I'd say your government are right. I certainly don't want neighbour's kids climbing over my fence to retrieve balls they shouldn't have kicked over in the first place.
