mykingdomforanam: It takes longer to travel through the earth, and distance is measured in space/time...

So, I don't think that qualifies as the shortest way...

According to Nassim Haramein, the center of the earth is a black hole; which would add another dimension (no pun intended) of problems to that route...
No idea who Nassim Haramein is..but years ago they mapped the earths core..can't remember how excatly..think it was some sort of sonar or doppler..just remember it looked like a forest and is in constant flux..

and if the centre of the earth was a black hole...we wouldn't be here now would we ?? lol...

Well, they found out that following the curves of the eart ain't necessarily the shortest way. It seems that if you fire a rocket about 1500 km into the sky and it comes back in a certain angle then you've travelled about 3000 km, but you are about 5000 km further than where the rocket was launched. Pythagoras-rule...

Tuesday2018: In school they learn Euclidean maths...
The maths used to describe the Universe are Non-euclidean maths..and the maths that Einstein used to prove his theories...

Euclidean maths are based on the shortest route from a to b is a straight line....take a triangle e.g....they learn the internal angles of a triangle all add up to 180 degrees....

Non euclidean maths are where the straight lines are in actual fact curves....which means the internal angles of a triangle will/can add up to be greater than 180 degrees...or less depending on the direction of the curvature of the sides...inward facing curves would reduce the size of the internal angles making them total less than 180...

When scientists talk that kinda rubbish then they're not doing anything to help people understand somethign better..they're just full of BS really...we need Euclidean maths for everything from a game of hop scotch to bulding houses to making a flower box......it's only when we come up against the true effects of nature do we need non euclidean maths...for example...building a very long bridge...we have to take into account the curvature of the earth...or that bridge will go nowhere...
I agree, they are pompous, self important a**hole, and full of bs...yawn

Euclidean math is good for hop scotch.

Non Euclidean math is necessary for building bridges; but...

"When scientists talk that (non Euclidian) kinda rubbish then they're not doing anything to help people understand somethign better..they're just full of BS really..."?

Would you rather have a hop scotch champion build our bridges?

Are the "scientists" who build bridges called, engineers?

In other words, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to use non Euclidean math, right?

Tuesday2018: It'd certainly be interesting to find out what was going on inside a black hole...that's one thing I envy the future generations...their finding out....
You might enjoy his video.

I don't remember how many times I watched the four hour version.

His scale of black holes, to planets, and atoms, is in the first half of this one; which is the four hour version.

I'm looking forward to seeing the whole 8 hour video, that I posted this link for.

Sorry..badly written...I meant when they start desconstructing to the point where everyone is truly cofused then it doesn't help anyone....and I was thinking about the kids in school trying to get their heads around it....it's easy for experts to make things sound far more complicated than it really is.......but what or who does that serve??? no one really...as the saying goes..."keep it simple stupid"

I didn't say hop scotch champions built our bridges...no idea where you got that from...although I'm sure plenty of kids who played hop scotch did go on to become bridge engineers...

A'ole pilikia.

I'm only here to practice writing; and I rarely compose a sentence I'm happy with.

How do you finish that sentence?
Does 'distance' have to be preceded by 'shortest'?
Is there longer or longest distance?

Go out on a limb. Answer it anyway you like.

Thanks, but that's not the video I was looking for.

It's the one that bumped the video I want to show everyone.

In the video I'm talking about...

They dust the lane with talcum powder, and roll a ball down it.

When nobody observes the ball, the line going towards the pins is very noticably, wavey.
