Do you read online newspapers and magazines? Which ones are your favorite? Which ones give the best and most reliable info of the world and its affairs?
I stopped buying newspapers/magazines a long time ago and then - little by little - stopped reading them online, too. I don't watch TV and I've recently realized that I'm pretty much lost when the world around me is concerned.
The reason why I stopped reading newspapers/watching news was because they got overwhelming. I got tired of sensations and fake news. Then again, I think that I should be informed, at least a little, but not misinformed (at least not much).
So, what are your recommendations? Which online newspapers and magazines would you recommend?
In early 1990's John Howard PM listened to a load of crap offered by Bob Brown Greens Party Minister. Howard's Liberal Government then passed legislation banning over one hundred year old prudent bush fire fuel reduction burns, that rural folks had engaged in for well over one hundred years. Farmers across Australia lit what is known as cold burn fires that slowly crept across the forest floor for days or even weeks reducing material that lessened possibility of extremely dangerous treetop bush fires. Since the 1990's very little whats was called "Burning Off" has occurred, in direct consequence many rural towns and homes have been completely devastated probably idiots living in cities don't give a dam what happens in rural areas, then play lip service to the consequences of failing in the duty of care government departments should uphold.
Berrying head in sand blacks-out background to news that is currently appearing like-in outlined in this link:
People choose the news that most closely aligns with their beliefs, left-leaning folks choose left leaning sources etc. Nutters choose conspiracy theory sources, conservatives choose right wing sources.
It makes people feel clever having their opinions reinforced.
I go through all news channels ( a flick through) that is RT news seems to have best news and controlled debates which are giving everyone chance to have there say. I find out more on RT news about my own country than sensational news and local news programmes. All reporters drag things out to make a name for themselves.

I keep quite a few bookmarked news site links, often check to view different takes on international affairs, because we can't trust people who are constantly engaged in mass murder, lying and stealing from other all the time.

i used to start my day with a couple coffees, and the news, then go to work. ...nothing like starting one's day full of fear...
i was a news junkie for a long time, till my partner convinced me to turn off the tv. and don't read anything too brain taxing on line before bed... it was good advice.
i still have some old habits... i do follow the wildfires in British Columbia (life long habit....)

I am a NEWS junkie.. LOL... I always have been .... don't buy hard copy newspaper per se.. but read online, local, state wide.. international.. from different countries.. I don't tend to stick to just specifics news sources depending where ti leads me... so can't give you any specific recommendations only specific ones I read are local and that wouldn't be any use for you, Bell... often when I am online I have news running in the background..
My son is the same.. he always comes up with new links etc.. we speak/discuss news and politics _nearly_ every day...
Just start with your local news.. and follow links...listen to what is happening in the world, watch news and find out what is real and/or fake, for YOU!....
It depends on the personality. The typical person in the age of information is not well-informed because you live as you would like, you’re not coerced into doing things like hearing what you don’t want to hear or experiencing experiences you don’t want to experience. Traditionally you were forced into knowing and if something was boring that wasn’t an excuse to ignore it. In the old days adult life just happened to you whether you chose it or not.
Which means that in the modern day the only people informed are weirdoes. People with an honest to god thing for knowing about things. Freaks who choose adulthood in spite of an infantilised world.

The freaks answer is to read all the media and understand the how and why behind every single bias out there.
