Sitting here last night. It suddenly. Came to me. What s quiet Christmas it will be. This year........my friend who I spent last Christmas
With.....ken a diamond of a man.......and his family.......has since died.......
so.....to all this who will be alone.....like I..........have a good one..........no doubt I will sit. Down. With a good bottle of whisky........watch telly.......and fall asleep. Till boxing day.....s happy thought...

Pete why don't you invite a few people (may be neighbours) who you know will be alone (up to the maximum allowed per household due to Covid) and each contribute some food and share Christmas dinner that way?Did that with a friend when I was first in Spain. We had a big "family dinner" by inviting over all the people we knew would have been alone that Christmas (all walks of life and mixture of nationalities). It was a beautiful meal and nobody felt "alone"... we share food, laughter and live music ...
I understand it might be a little more complicated due to Covid, but if you're all sensible could still work
