I ended up in an ambulance just to make sure I was ok and before leaving the scavengers tried to tow away my car. Luckily the Chief of Police for the area saw the accident and charged everyone. One thing really puzzled me... the airbag on the driver's side which went off was so small with me being 6'3" never even touched and the one on the passenger side when it went off also not touching me, was as big as the Goodyear Blimp. The mechanic called the company HO and after the engineer saw the car he said the fact I installed low profile tires may have saved my life as regular tires may have made me roll over completely for sure. A truck coming the other way avoided me by swerving and yet demolished 2 other cars. I also had different sway bars and that made the car a bit harder to roll over as I felt it trying to stabilize after I was hit.
RedHeadedTaurus: The glass top on my outdoor table randomly and suddenly broke into 20 million pieces tonight ... weird.
I've
Does the glass have a frame around it? and was it relatively warm during the day but went cold at night?
if yes then it could have been the frame that did the damage..expanded in the heat during the day and shrank at ngiht, putting pressure on the glass.....that caused it to shatter....or it could jsut have been the glass expanding/retracting and the temp drop was more sudden that night and the glass couldnt handle the pressure..so shattered...or something could just have been dropped on it...birds drop things all the time...from stones to full size salmon lol..
raphael119: Glass improperly fired can shatter suddenly. I saw a restaurant in England that everyone thought had a poltergeist. For years glasses and anything related would suddenly shatter for no reason. All the glass came from same factory.
And it took them "years" to figure it out? Lol. I guess poltergeist was better to blame as opposed to the glass factory. Cra cra ...
bodleing2: If it shattered into many small pieces it must have been toughened glass which is a legal requirement for table tops anyway. I've worked with glass, (mainly mirrored glass) for many years, including supplying glass table tops. Depending on the thickness, (10 mm required at least) they are very difficult to break. I suspect there was some damage to the top which could lead to sudden failure, but that would normally come about in extreme changes in air temperature. It could though be a manufacturing fault. Small particles of nickel-sulfide can get trapped in the manufacturing process, which can expand and caused the glass to shatter, but this would normally, not always happen in the toughening process.
How do you get on with your next door neighbours btw?...
Welp, bod, there were many small pieces - mixed with other millions of various sized pieces.
I was standing at my aquarium, feeding my fish, when suddenly I heard a big loud BOOM outside. Naturally, I hot-footed it out there to investigate. Not a soul anywhere around, except for my cat, who came with me to investigate. I looked around and saw loads of glass on the ground, some of which appeared to have flown projectile, in all directions.
I get along with my (far away) neighbors swimmingly. We're close friends. And besides, they're at their cottage up north.
GeneralBeacon: I think Gal did it... I hope he has an alibi.
He does ... he was home eating pistachios and creating more jibjab videos. Plus, I would've seen him (or anybody else), as I have security measures in place so as to know if/when someone comes onto my property.

The frame around the glass was the table, itself. The temperature does fluctuate quite a bit here, but I wouldn't say it was that much of an extreme fluctuation last night.
Initially I did think something had dropped on it, as my yard is heavily wooded with a plethora of huge trees. One of the first things I did was look up to see if a branch had fallen on it, but nope.
Plenty of birds flying by all the time dropping stones. It would be nice if a bird flew by and dropped a salmon on my table though. Lol.
RedHeadedTaurus: Is he now ... I'm not familiar with this "Hairy Legs" dance ... I'll have to check it out. Then maybe you could teach me how to do it I'll wait.
Scratch that, I just watched it ... I don't want to do that dance Noooo

it happened here in Mayo..some bird caught a salmon in the Moy (famous for it's salmon fishing) , but it bite off more than it could chew, dropped the salmon and it ended up stuck in someone's roof
