Hydrogen power will be for some of transportation for sure/ no pollution but for the rest of us we will go electric soon enough. But what happens to our vintage cars and motorcycles after. worthless piles of junk or Rebel Riders

Yep.... Gasoline and Diesel are dirty but let's keep: — stripping the Earth to get the lithium — then building solar panels that are non recyclable and — windmills that are non recyclable — nuclear reactors that are clean and then extremely dirty ......all so we can run an electric car that still cannot make it from Miami to Atlanta without having to stop overnight to recharge

NYT neglected to put a number on the Lithium shortage, but I’ve seen estimates that a 2000% increase in Lithium extraction rates would be required, along with a broad range of other toxic minerals such as Rare Earths (used in high efficiency electric motors). There would be no opportunity to be dainty about ramping up production on that scale – Once easily accessible Lithium brines were exhausted, Lithium miners would have to rip the countryside apart, digging up low grade Lithium containing minerals in vast open cut mines, creating enormous toxic waste dumps in their effort to feed the EV production market.
And none of this would be a one-off – the search and extract process would be ongoing.
Good thing the motive for this proposed wholesale planet wrecking is to save the environment, right?
bodleing2: Just bought an ebike....it's a game changer.
Or how about a bike. The raw power of your own legs like two steel pistons pumping away into a new world, a healthier world. Don't give your legs to batterie made out of children's tears.

P/Assist ebikes require effort to use. In fact the chances are, due to the fact that you use them more often and cycle many more miles, they actually keep you fitter. I've cycled regularly for around 60 years, my ebike should ensure i carry on for a few more years to come, especially as its a mountain bike....it's a dream come true for me as most off my cycling is off road and now i can go back to some of the routes i used to do many years ago.

well, I have an e-bike, and it's far from perfect. Where I used to cycle distances of 100 km's-500 km's in a day, now I can hardly ride 30 km's and then I have to stop for 2 hours to reload the batteries. But the reason why I bought it is sometimes I have 2 places in a row to teach with only 30 minutes between and the places are about 8-10 km seperated from each other. On a normal bike I could hardly make it, and if I can make it in time, I would arrive all sweaty. Not Ideal to start teaching. I have a small garagebox, and only one bike fits inside. So a second bike would have to stand outside all of the time, have no garden either, and stealing bikes is one of the most common crimes in the Netherlands. In my youth I had a neighbour who used to park his bike next to the railwaystation when going to work, and everyday he came home on a different bike, just what was good enough to cycle the 7 km's on and what wasn't locked to well.
If you are coming to the Netherlands once, you can buy a bike from a drugsdealer for only 25 euro's but the bike will be stolen and if you are caught with the bike, you have serious problems.

100-500km a day.....are you sure???
I know it's flat in the Netherlands, but really, i find that difficult to believe.

My friend at work, Mr Bill, used to take a month off from work every year and cycle out to California or Washington state and then back to Columbus on his favorite trek cycle. He’d average about 320 KMs a day. He had one back pack, one change of clothes, first aid kit, sleeping bag etc but no cellphone or pager. He took different routes each time and saw the contiguous United States.

I did the former South sea in about 21.20 hrs/ It's about 400 km's. Cycling to My sister who lives In Zuid-Horn I did in about 12 hours on my pushbike, on bicycle it should be about 170 km's but sometimes I took the wrong road or I was searching for the right direction. Usually I left about 12 am and arrived at 12 pm. Guess I cycled about 18-21 km's per hour. (km's not miles!!!).
And I thought suitcases on wheels were bad before the inappropriately named hoverboard. Before a man became that suitcase on wheels, became the luggage that he is unmanly enough to let the earth carry for him.
Who'd have thought that the suitcase on wheels came with the power to render the earth uninhabitable to mankind. Feet that don't even touch the ground anymore. But you're not hovering. The hovering is an illusion. The truth is that you are connected to the earth for better or worse. Earthlings of the earth, walk yourselves!
