I went to a church service (different church from the one I belong to) in Portland, and the minister began the sermon:
"I want you all to really understand that God's love, the Holy Trinity's love, is unconditional..........
......BUT......." He paused, and finally there were a few chuckles in the audience, then outright laughter. The focus of his sermon was a bit whimsical, but everybody understood. If it is unconditional, there is no "but" about it. You can't have it both ways. I liked the guy.....
I don't give a flying poo what anyone says, there ARE conditions on love no matter what, you can down thumbs me I don't care you can tongue talk me I don't care but the truth of the matter is, you DO have conditions, period and if you are truthful with yourself you will admit it. It is being human.

Unconditional love is sometimes called agape or disinterested love. This form of love is truly unconditional, very rare and completely different to romantic love.

But, the poster did not say it was a variety of love, there are most def different varities of love as you list but those were not mentioned but in the end, NO love is unconditional. I really don't care how you word it, it just isn't. Just being true to being a human.

Yes, their are limits. You love your dog. The dog bites a child. You are obligated to put the dog down. By your own hand.
Your love for the dog is not in question. As you said, no love is unconditional.
