I don't know about the rest of you women over 40 but I am so fed up with twenty something guys contacting me. This one said he was interested in someone who was straight with her opinion... possibly a mistake when contacting me. grin

So the following was my reply... what do you think.... to harsh?

Well you said you wanted someone straight in their opinions, be careful what you ask for because sometimes you get it.

Did you not read the age parameters on my profile, I'm willing to give a year or two in either direction, but you're not even close. What could we possibly have in common? I have a daughter just a few years younger then you are, I have been married, divorced, a single parent, a successful business owner and have traveled all over the world.

I am single because it is difficult to find a man who matches me in education, life experience sense of humor and maturity. I am looking for a partner not someone else to take care of and teach. Please don't insult my intelligence and that of other "older" women by thinking that because you are young we will be flattered by your attention.

Regards,

Jbibiza

Possibly a little harsh, yes. Peronsally, I wouldn't have gone into such lengthy detail. I get them too and I just make it clear that there are women who ARE attracted to younger men but I am not one of them. But I think he undoubtedly got the message, which was the purpose...??

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm YES giggle

I think people need to read profiles a bit more. I dont think some people do.

I don't think what you say in your profile really makes any difference to some though.

They are still going to try and get their end away, so to speak.

morganlee: Hi jb, not too harsh at all. I agree and am completley p****d off with it to.

Some are younger than my son and he is 23yrs! i also take it as an insult to my intelligence. Have also found when i did reply saying they were to young politely and good luck looking for someone there own age, they wrote again arguing the point or being abusive now i don't answer at all.

I usually just ignore them as well, but I'm tired tonight, have a sore throat and working to many hours... he was just the icing on the cake and got torched for his trouble. mumbling

sigh Such mails somehow are instant " be on guard " warning to me .. or else plain disinteresting.

Thing is Jb , people actually DONT read profiles and understand them or they think its anyways better to try.

And as someone very well quoted once , sometimes some men try too hard or else in ways which might not be apropriate but dont intend to really annoy or hurt us.

cant really say dunno
