friendsfirst: A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and the weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular culling of the weakest members.
In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first.
In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.I don't drink anymore.I don't drink any less either. Actually it's been almost 5 years.alcohol free. Now cyber alcohol .Thats a different story.Line em um rookies.
I become quite handsome, I get very flirty, women find me more attractive, and my buttons get loose....people tend to say the funniest things when I drink...and by midnite there's not a woman in the bar that is not attractive....

Oddly enough, beyond the first mild little buzz, it doesn't do much to me at all. I learned long ago that I can drink prodigious quantities and still pass a DUI test. It just doesn't have much effect.
I guess that's the biggest reason that I don't drink much - I know it's not going to do anything beyond a certain point, so I don't see any reason to keep spending money for no additional results.
On the other hand, if I'm with a group of folks (say at a Mountainman Rendezvous) who are really "tying one on," then I will deliberately and gradually slur my speech and act the part of the clown (which I generally do anyway) just to fit in and get the laughs. At the end of the evening, though - when everyone else is passed out around the campfire - I'm making my way back to my own camp to drink a cup of coffee and maybe a quart or so of water to offset the dehydration that alcohol invariably DOES cause, before turning in for a good night's sleep in my own bedroll.
Oh, and since alcohol doesn't do much to/for me, I also haven't had to worry about a hangover in many, MANY years!
Ive been drinking very low percent alcohol for years and really enjoy the buzz - but the other day, somebody else brought in my supplies and got something stronger than I would have - all hell broke loose - happens every time i drink stronger than im used to - I talk out of turn and say truths that have been bubbling up for ages - thankfully, i usually do my own shopping.........
