fireliter: first I'll share this, a couple of people have used this ploy to get me to attend church. I am not ready nor do I want marriage ...at this time anyway.
What I currently "think" I want is all the nuances of a relationship without the bindings of the religious description of a good relationship. That meaning being "marriage minded ".
would you ever suggest for someone to attend church to find a "good woman/man"?
Well my response was not nearly as polite or well thought aswhat I've read today.
Suffice to say, my response was more along the lines of them trying to use a house of worship as a house of ill repute.... not exactly with those words. Sometimes my communication skills fail me.
crotalus_p: any way whats wrong with you setting one up or even just suggesting it to your pastor ??
Been there, done that while I was married....we were youth directors, head of the young marrieds class....not really something I'm cut out to be doing. Would also be another reason for belonging to a large church...lol

NOPE, don't attend church myself. though have meet really nice church going people, I really don't like the underlying politics and those gossipy/nosy/hoity-toity people that believe they are perfect and saved simply because they sit in a building for an hour singing and sweating.
Sorry if that seems mean, but I have seem "pious" people do some very disrespectful and mean things. I feel religion lives in everyone, not in one building with a cross on it.
princess49503: Tipaly beleive it or not, some of these younger girls (and their parents) have no clue whats appropriate attire for church.
Last time I went to church with my mother, there were girls dressed as if they were going to the clubs on hot friday night.
Believe me, I understand. I am from a small, and I mean small area. A man wears a hat in church and women swoon. My mother even had issues with it.
But I leave in a wierd highly democratic/conservative area. My point is that we need to lightn up. God gave us the ability to laugh and be merry, people should use that a lot more often. Church or no.
Oh, and friends have been asked to leave churchs they grown up in because they are not in "proper" attire. Meaning a special sunday suit, they wore their work clothes.

There's no guarentee, that's where I met my ex. It is a good place to start though, it narrows the odds of a bad match!
me of the most hypocritical people i have ever met are church goers. I think it's about the way you live your life and treat others that matters not whether you go to church

TBH... I am not sure that it makes any difference.. cause you have to meet someone you genuinely like and click with.. so whether you meet them on the street or in Church doesn't really matter...for example I am a regular Church goer, and there isn't anyone in my Church that I have considered dating.. so really.. doesn't make a difference... I would like to meet a fellow Christian, sure, but by the looks of things I am not going to meet him in my church ...
There are good people everywhere... compatibility is the key

You have to realize the hypocrites are imperfect just like the rest of us.
Anywhere he goes, he usually freaks people out, due to his wheelchair, his noises and his general behavior since he is non-verbal. Disabilities have a way of making people uncertain, uncomfortable and distant.
I don't think a church going guy would be any different in viewing what comes along with me.

Just look at the priests that molest children in their congregations....They are about as devout as you can (presumably) get...

just a thought but if one is a Christian in "good standing" would it be wrong to .... Church Hop ?
As you said you attend church regular and no one strikes your fancy. would it be wrong to go Church Hopping ion hopes of finding a Christian man? I have known people who do the "Church Hopping just for the music and choruses.
wixomwizard: If that is what you are going for ,you are going for the wrong reason! I don't think it is meant to be a singles club, although there are singles groups who interact in church.
