Sure anyone in line may vote....but how long will they be in line. How long are the lines in prosperous white suburbs....bet you get to vote there in 10 or 15 minutes tops......while in poor areas you queue for hours???? sounds like a third world country.....or an attempt to fix it so poor people don't vote. After all they might actually vote Democrat.....and that might lead to the end of the world so they have to be protected from themselves!!!

They balance out the systems pretty well among the precints......depending of the size of the location and the number in the precint registries.
Where they are running into problems.....is where they set up only 1 early voting location in a county......mostly in OH. I suspect they did that because of the 1 day registery and 1 day vote program. They had some 4-6 hours waits there. Admittedly to long.
But they will keep the vote going till the last in the line has voted....

I know that Florida divides into Red and Blue bits same as every other state. McCain needs more votes to win! He might get them but then he might not and right now he is behind.
As for Palin....I think the selection of her was a great boon to the Democrats. It helped heal the Hillary rift and it reminded them of the nasty vindictive nature of a large chunk of the Republican party. It motivates the Democrat vote at least as much as the Republican one, undermines McCain's independent voter credentials and even alienates the more thinking wing of the Republicans.
