somechick: Trust. Without trust from either side then why would anyone choose to be in a realtionship in the first place.
As you have correctly stated Trust is very important, and I have started relationships, before, when the start of it should have been a signal that the person was not trustworthy. The basis of which being Truth, what we both chose to be, Truthfully, after, "in the first place." A should have know, should have at least had a clue situation, of passion enticed by beauty, only to become a past relationship of similar means.
Tater: I know this is cliche, but it is actually false..
You can care about others, even when you don't care for yourself....
1)example: Alot of people who commit suicide, do it because they feel they aren't good enough for their parents/boy/girlfreind or whatever, or they don't want to burden someone else with their hard times or problem....
They teach people that you have to love yourself or you can't love anyone else, simply to try and raise that person's self-esteem...
think about it when do people say that to other people? When the other people are feeling down and/or depressed.....This is why I don't care for docs. who manipulate other people minds
I choose to think for myself, and not just go by what others tell me...
Good point, Tater, and very interesting post...and yet, suicide is actually a very selfish act.
Anyway, I love your point about when we tell people this...yep, usually when they're down. However, do we tell them this then because it's when we know they need to hear it? Just some further thoughts on it.

I don't believe it's a cliche...if you can't see the good in you...how do you know what good looks like in other people.....if you can't value yourself...how do you value others....learning to love oneself gives one the ability to then give that love to others.....if one feels ugly and unworthy on the inside...that's what they then give to other people....feelings and the ability to give them come strictly from the inside....not from the outside...so ones ability to care....comes from the inside also...but it comes along with all the other junk that we project from the inability to love ourselves.....

Whether it is a love relationship, family relationship or just friend relationship, I place a lot of value on when the other person knows me so well that he or she understand what I am trying to say, even if i do not express myself properly. That is very comforting for me. :)
