You see, that is the conditions that I was talking about. You cannot come to a negotiation table with what you want only and think that you will achieve peace. It failed for 60 years. Israel thinks that Hamas is the problem today. Yesterday it was Hezebollah, tomorrow somebody else. It is about time that Israel realizes that the approach of power and superiority won't get it to establish a state where people can live in peace and harmony with their neighbors.

We saw this in Iraq, where people came out and said they did not want the violence of Saddam Husein. The same will have to happen where Hammas is concerned but will not happen until people either are desperate for peace or have the tiniest bit of hope and safety in speaking up.

When all parties agree to put only peace on the table and negotiate their ways to achieve this target without more conditions or lands as I said above, there will be no room for hate. All parties especially Israel will benefit from peace with its neighbors. Look at it this way, they tried wars and killing for 60 years and still not working. Soldiers are garnered from the innocent, through fear and guilt, pounding religious drum, nationality, whatever it takes.
Not long ago, many people left the US rather than be conscripted in the Vietnam War. The ostricization of those people who chose not to fight, was just one weapon of guilt used to conform citizens to fight in coming wars.
It will be a long time before an american again refuses to fight for his country, even if he does know the cause is bogus. Calling them 'deserters' and 'unpatriotic' and a number of other terms is the machinations of guilt thumpers... not much different from religion fighters who's guilt process involves fighting for god or allah or lose the promise of heaven.

No, we would all try and survive as best we could. However, if and when all avenues have been exhausted and we are against the wall as my family was During WWII, then when we can make a difference after the horrors physically cease, we have to make a choice.
Let me explain.
My Family, was part of a very large and vast Jewish Family, that was located in much of Europe, France, Russia, Greece and Bravaria. Almost all of the branches were killed in the Holocaust.
At the end of WWII, in which my Father was Jewish American in Special Forces, there was only a small handful of people left in Europe and a even smaller second handful here in USA, that had managed to escape. All the rest of a very large diverse family had been wiped out.
My parents stressed to us we could not change the past. We had a choice, to hate and continue the damage that had been inflicted upon us, causing even more damage to our future generations.
OR we could take the higher road and extend a Peaceful hand to all peoples, to try and insure this did not happen again, leading to healing on all sides.
The second option is the one I choose because it give Hope for all of us.
