down to Earth

as gravity pulls me
closer to the grave,
or is it mother's womb -
stature and time of life
shortened literally

and wonder abounds on all
sides without and within
as we brush hand-to-cheek
and look eye-to-eye
deep into our humanity

i gravitate to the edge
boxed and ribboned for
the present step off ledge
to what we cannot know
what befalls the to come

i wish a few words
of gratitude to all
who pull me lifting up
from dirt’s despair
to spinning existence

to die, alive as desire
and squeeze all the juice of
life's lime into our draught
both soured and fresh taste
swallow today’s liquid life

damn...today feels good
the sky bluer than me
and the music divine
even in diminished tones
known life is loving, loved

Don't be in a hurry. The long dirt nap comes to us all, but no rush. Any day you wake up on top of the ground is a good day... beer

So good, really good guy of our corner. Happy to see you feel today is good though "the sky is bluer than" you!

I would not profess to understanding the meaning but it is strong and sure with the unusual on/off rhyme you have perfected.thumbs up
