Bring Out Your Dead

Gossamer sails on boat of skulls
Sailing on the river of the dead
Beneath waters wide open mouths
Silently screaming their agonies
Bony fingers claw at the boat
Desperate to reclaim life
But uncaring the boat sails on
Onwards to our destination
Hooded figure steers the boat
With bony hand on tiller
Unmoving, not a word was spoken
Black angels flying overhead
Singing their mournful songs
These songs so dark and eerie
To set your teeth on edge
And in the distance other boats
Are drifting to and fro
Carrying their damned cargoes
To some far distant shore
And all this time a doomed sound
Kept ringing out so loud
And with this sound the spoken words
Bring out your dead
