Big Wheel Truck

Big wheel truck
Rolling down the road
Sound of tyres humming
Haven't got time to stop 'n sleep
A schedule to be keeping

Push yourself through the night
Awake the pills will keep you
Faster now, we're behind
Let's reach a hundred 'n thirty

Eyes are tired, white line blurs
Truck begins to wander
What is that light
That shines in eyes
My God we're going to crash now

Somewhere east a woman sleeps
And dreams her dreams so sweet
Never knowing that this night past
Her husband's not returning

hi Steve

Thank so kind, for this. this is so true all though many do take caffeine pills which by the way I do avoid the use of. So many nights we are pushed to our limits many trucks I see off of the road in a ditch. I must admit although never put a truck in a ditch from lack of sleep I have been many times a split second from doing so. The pressures that are put on us to make the scheduled deliveries are at most times unbearable.

Thank you kickit....here in Australia they face the same pressures and there are many smaller operators that push their drivers past the safe and legal limit. When you have a family to support I suppose they have very limited options. Let's pray that this industry finally gets cleaned up.

cheers

I know here in America in 2010 the federal government is taking new action making new laws which is designed to go after the drivers themselves more then the company's and the people that push the drivers to the extreme. it is also tied up in courts as we speak to change the hours of service laws. which they did few years back but those are being challenged in the courts. this industry is out of control mankind does not know how to govern himself. it just leads to more confusion and even more pressures.
