The Narrow Path

This narrow path, rocky and steep
So hard to travel on
Legs aching and feet so sore
They're all covered in blisters

I look to the left and a highway I see
So wide, smooth, and inviting
Tempted I am to jump across
To ease my journey slightly

But then I think, let's wait and see
This next hill I'll be climing
I wonder if the other side
Will show me what's awaiting

The crest I reach and there below
A massive gate, the entrance into Heaven
Angels dancing all around
And echoes of their rejoicing

I look to see the highway's end
Disappearing in a crevice
Sulphur fumes and flames shoot out
And the wail of souls tormented

How glad and blessed I am
That narrow path I stayed with
For now the journey's end I've reached
And celebrating in Heaven

The easy way is definitely not the best way boyshchrm6. This day and age too many people choose the easy way as can be seen by the eroding values of our society. Thanks for stopping by.

cheers cheers

Hi Steve, the easy way brings forth temporary joy but the long term effect is devastating. But much often many choose the easy instead of the hard course which bears much fruit in the end.peace
