PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE

It’s almost a year since time you left home,
I’ve pulled down the curtains, fixed lock on my door.
You did what was right – for the better, not worse,
But left broken heart in the wake, cut to bone.

I am thinking of times we were family,
Every night in my dreams only you and me.
I’ve been going in mind to the places we’ve been,
It is time to raise curtains, to let daylight in.

It’s been almost a year since we drifted apart,
I wonder if ever my heart’s reconciled.
You did what was better for future of child,
They say you’ve been having a time of your life.

If not for the things I could hardly control,
Had love been regarded for all what it’s worth,
I would have bestowed you all treasures of world,
Seems love is no object, some things matter more.

It’s almost a year since time you left home
I wonder if ever I’ll manage to cope.

About this poem:
"There is the silence of a great hatred,
And the silence of a great love,
And the silence of an embittered friendship.
...
There is the silence of those unjustly punished ..."
(Edgar Lee Masters, "Silence")

Some life experience that leaves indelible mark, hard to wipe off, if ever. You know what I mean...

My dear ladies, thank you very much for your sympathy, which I needed so much. This is not fictional, just life, and, yes, we have to cope, no matter how hard it may be. We just have to pull up curtains and let in fresh air. Best wishes to you all! Love you!kiss kiss kiss

"It has been said that time heals all wounds. I don't agree. The wounds remain. Time - the mind, protecting its sanity - covers them with some scar tissue and the pain lessens, but it is never gone."
Don't know the author of this quote, but I do relate to it. Life is sad, and nothing goes away, and hurt stays where it was.
Thank you, my dear poets!bouquet

So true Marikia - time may dull the pain, but it never goes away. Life's experiences mold us into who we are today. Poets.

“Turn your wounds into wisdom,” as the quote goes. Wisdom drawn from experience is as solid as rock. Thank you, Kathy, for your wise comment! Best wisheshug heart1
