Broken Allegiance

The earth is groaning
What traitors we are
Red sunsets and glorious mornings
Birds and wildlife that enchanted
Where are the frogs of my childhood?
..and little chameleons that I grew up with
Frogs were everywhere in abundance
The earth is moaning
What liars we are
Growing flowers and vegetables
With natural fertilizer and heritage seeds
A horse and plough was all we needed
A childhood of fresh food and clean air
Fruits and berries seemed to spring everywhere
Clean water was in abundance
The earth is frowning
What idiots we are
Turning our back on our friend nature
It could not speak so we just raped it
It would not turn on us so we just ruined it
It silently stood buy with the wisdom we would see
That destroying it was destroying we
The earth is raging
We have infuriated it
What have we done
Even now we don't see for our greed is fanatical
Convenience has taking over our lives
Nature is dumped with our sloth and lack of care
We pollute the ground, water and air
We know and yet don't care
The earth will not forgive
It will show no mercy
Nor allow Redemption
Would You!!
