Love Child

A world unknown since the dawn of ages
Lays deep in the hearts of the truly wise
The truth revealed only in small stages
Perfection approached over swirling lies

What's more to love to surrender oneself
Falling into the arms of another
No piercing arrows of a little elf
For passion's fire despair will soon smother

Simple truth reflected in our nature
We must nourish a gentle loving race
A baby will cling to life we nurture
A time hard for our memory to trace

The value of every human life
Is equal in a world devoid of strife

About this poem:
Wouldn't it be nice if we cared for and valued every human being like a newborn baby?

Hi Yankee

It's great to see the sonnet (which I have long considered as arguably the purest form of poetry) alive and well here on poetry corner. Your message is beyond contradiction in this fine write.

another heart felt poem. yes it is so sad that we see race, creed, color, and beauty as something to condem or aprase as we see fit rather then embrace the soul and nurture it with love.
