You should be behind my eyes And see the world as I do All these things that were so bad They no longer matter
All this pain that I've gone through My inside outside twisted The memories that sharply bite These purple pills have eased them
I'm ready now to walk the streets And go back to living So let me out, unlock the door Restore to me my freedom
Why is it that you stonily stare So cold and aloof Hiding behind your white doctor's coat No words of comfort given
So let me out I beg of you I have regained my sanity No more will people stare and say He's non compos mentis

About this poem:
Some one said 'You are in an institution...I am the one who can release you....or keep you locked away.' They wanted a poem to do with that subject. Here is my effort.

Steve, you are one of those that I have come to admire. I am going out for a new adventure for a while,. I just wanted you to know that. Your mate and I are going so strong and please pray for us. We love you Steve and thank you for all the support you have given us.

Thank you MM ... Non compos mentis is a Latin term meaning 'not of sound mind'
