Noah's Lament....part 1

Noah pruned his vineyard until sunshines glow would wane.
He heard a voice call out to him,"I'm going to make it rain!
Go build a boat so you can float upon the waters crest,
Fill it up with provender and I will do the rest.
He called his three sons to assist and told them "Go for wood!"
How he'd been told to build an ark as quickly as he could.
With troubled hearts they went to work, they hammered and they sawed,
Their passing neighbours thought them mad and chortled and guffawed.
"Hey Noah whatcha doin'? How will ya make it float?
The nearest water's leagues away, your chances are remote!
Your warning of impending doom, the end of all mankind!
The urgent pleas to join you, torment your feeble mind."
The work completed,Noah heard the voice he'd heard before,
"Recieve those that I send to you,I'll guide them to the door."
Two by two,all unclean beasts, two pair of every kind,
Seven pair of clean beasts came, the rest were left behind.
The door was closed and sealed with pitch, the neighbours romped and played,
The bleeting of a lamb was heard as Noahs' family prayed.
The thunder clapped and lightnings flashed the deluge unabated
While all creation fled in fear to higher ground and waited!
The waters from the deep burst forth as jagged crags emerged,
Torrential rains descending until mountain peaks submerged.
Enormous herds of animals entombed beneath the soil
Decayed and percolated into buried lakes of oil.
Large mounds of vegetation, compressed in mammoth holes,
Transformed by heat and pressure into massive fields of coals.

About this poem:
It's not a new story
Just told in a little different manner,
with some points worthy of contemplation.
