Welcoming the Divine II...

It used to be, that I’d waste precious hours of ‘life-time’ trying to figure out why, suddenly, for any of a myriad reasons, acrimony erupts between me and my beloved,
In the past, I’d want to ‘analyze this to death’,
And, I’d easily win any arguments, as ‘I’m such a darn good lawyer...’, lol, or weep, as the case may be...,
Nowadays, I recognize it simply as a face of the divinity, said divinity seeking either playful expression, or change, or an increase in tempo, or..., you fill in the blank...,
In this regard, take last nite as an example,
The ruckus started innocuously enough, as ruckus’s are expert at doing,
They creep upon you unsuspectingly, like a chameleon might upon a juicy fly,
Adroitly displaying its alluring(but highly poisonous from-the-point-of-view-of-enticement) colors,
And you become more and more entangled in their surreptitious web, till suddenly,
The beloved is putting her clothes on in a ‘huff-and-a-puff’ and threatening to never see your face again,
You sigh, and if you’re a Libra like me, you’ve learnt a thing or two about ‘negotiation’ and ‘urbanity’ and ‘harmony’, and so, pretty soon,
She’s disrobed and is back in your arms laughing gaily at the ‘Laurel and Hardy’ routine you both just went thru,
But, you see, this is no trick,
It takes a stepping back, becoming the observer of the theatrics and recognizing that the divine, disguised as the current acrimony, is knocking on your door for some reason,
And, all you have to do, is to have the presence of mind, to become aware of it, smile playfully and welcome it into your story,
Its a ‘feel-good-story’, I promise,
You just relax,
And you welcome the divine,
Being at peace,
Without agendas,
Without ‘cleverness’ on your part,
Without dark ulterior motives,
Neither, horror-of-horrors, with thoughts or motives that you’re ‘above’ being acrimonious, ‘cause if you in any way entertain the idea that you’re ‘wiser’ than the other,
Then you have fallen for the greatest illusion of them all,
Self-delusion ala Don Quixote style,
And the abyss hungrily opens its mouth, which is watering, as its waiting to devour you...
I try to resist going down this path,
I take a deep breath or two,
I fall into a kind of relaxed trance...,
I like this, its what more and more I’m calling ‘welcoming-the-divine’ in my life...

You are so right EGT:

Dear Earl

I wish I'd read your stuff many, many moons ago, you have narrated just how easy and stress-free this welcoming-the-divine really is.

Muses... I wonder if a leopard my age is too old to change its spots... sigh
