I liken myself to a crab, My star sign being cancer, Why I think I’m like this beast I do not have the answer.
I do not think I have a shell Although I wish I did. For when life gets too much for me That’s where you’ll find me hid.
I certainly don’t have sharp claws To give people a nip. My hands are soft and gentle This cold is giving them gip.
My eyes they do not wander Around like a telescope. They don’t see quite as far as they should, But I haven’t given up hope.
To say that I walk sideways, Sidestepping issues important. Is not entirely true, To say for sure, “I can’t”
Maybe if you, can break my crusty shell, And find the softness, deep inside, Then you could sometime tell, The people that have toyed with me, And chased me far away, Please don’t tease me on the beach, On a summers day.

My star sign being cancer... Here's to having a safe walk on the beach, On a summers day. Enjoyed reading your soft-shell crab poem.
