Lying for Love

I should take back the words I said,
using soft tones to mellow you,
the ones I used to get inside your head,
casual love was my only intention too,

The way I spun such a story,
lied only just to make me feel good,
making love to you in such fury,
you fell in deep as you should,

I used you and for a while I felt proud,
now your heart and love for me linger,
your overtures to me now so loud,
suggesting it is time to place a ring on your finger,

I cannot take those words back,
I lied only for my own sake,
evrything I said was just to get you in the sack,
I do not give love I only take,

So my darling with more words of sweet refrain,
I will break from you and let you go,
my love for you is no longer the same,
I am a terrific liar and you should know,

I pretend that am no good for you,
I love you so much I will let you be free,
do not understand me this is what I do,
I am a natural born liar this is what I be.

About this poem:
There are many people who have fallen for this type of person whether male or female they are the users and abusers of love. Just my own interpretation of how they think in their minds and penned this as a user, hope you enjoy and reflect on past hurts from similar lovers.

It is all so true, dear poet, the only thing is: they do not deserve wasting time and writing poems on their behalf. Liars preying on human honesty are beneath notice and contempt. So sorry for my negative comment, but "When you chose to be honest, you can sleep at night. Liars know no peace," so I hope they have no peace - ever - for the rest of their lives!hug

Marikia thank you for being so open but yes unfortunately the poem reflects the deceit involved in which those who are hurt are left bewildered and often reluctant to try again for some time. This is not for those who hurt but for those who have been hurt.
