The Siren

A siren sat and eyes she cast
With longing at the shore
Such excitement there she would find
All the world lay there to explore

But unfortunately there was no hope
For lacking she was feet
So every day she’d sit there and pray
For she would not admit defeat

For years she sat til she was old
Each day the same as the other
Til the day she caught an angel’s eye
Who spoke of her plight to Earth’s Mother

Finally her wish came true
Upon the shore she stepped
Her happiness knew no bounds
And tears of joy she wept
