Medals are for heroes
commendations for the brave,
courage and devotion
bravery, sacrifice,
flow in their veins.
We celebrate and honour
those who carry
such a life,
giving and unequalled
price often the life.
One man saw a need
stepped into the fray,
his life was exchanged
so we could slip away
he stood alone for us.
Blood was spilt
life was taken
we could escape.
Where is his medal ribbon
never had one
He died for people
to save them so....
Jesus was his name
a substitute who came

One man saw a need stepped into the fray... All it takes is One to step in to make life better for others. Thank you for sharing christian22's poem A Hero that reminds us to be thankful for the sacrifices made for each of us.

Its a very painful thing not to be rewarded
recognized, or acknowledged.
Jesus saved humanity.
Lets reward our hero Jesus by believing
in him, repenting and asking for forgivenes.
Thank you the true reflection.
Blessings to you.

I rejoice with you!!!
thank you for sharing
lately ive got a very important poem to write
based on HIM from 2 different viewpoint
unlike night and day is totally opposite ...
to embrace is in fact condemnation
to our faith and the very foundation
it is built upon and is the absolute truth
from the deceiving paramount lie...
Jesus of Nazareth is NOT the prophet Jesus of the Muslim!!!
That's profound but true, likely more than most of us realize. Though I think we realize even more now, as so recently highlighted through our loss of our beautiful poet soul Cafe Jim, including through the words of those who've written tributes, that a msg., comment or flower, I'm sure at times made a very great impact on the receiver without him beginning to know just how great it really was. I'm sure in his lifetime, he'd learned the impact even the smallest gesture could have, and likely why he did so much more behind the scenes than I'd realized - not in the bigness of a particular gesture, but in the sincere content & the sheer volume of individuals he cheered on, beyond his great rapport in his public comments. I do feel along the way, he did begin to realize how much it meant to so many, though I think it never ceased to amaze him how much his poetry was enjoyed here; and he thoroughly appreciated that, and the fact that through his writing he could touch others in very significant ways.
I learned from a child in my church, at a time when my own child was very young, that even a 4 yr. old(to whom I was a Sunday School teacher) could do so, as she was the only one in my entire day that year, who came up to me during class, and hugged me & told me "Happy Mother's Day". It was wonderful, and I'll never forget the impact a few simple words can make. It completely changed the rest of my day.
And it happens on a big scale, as well, as you pointed out in your comments. One person certainly can make a difference, even change history, for the better.
Thank you, Joy, for the positive difference you've made through your poems(which some day, I'm going to delve into more fully), along with the wonderful encouraging comments you also leave here, and many other ways I believe you've encouraged & helped others throughout the years you've been among us here.

It's very appreciated and means so much.

Thank you so very much for your comment. An astute observation, as well, I'm so glad you brought out, as I think I also needed to be reminded, "...a very painful thing not to be rewarded
recognized, or acknowledged."
I also agree wholeheartedly with the rest of your comment; I'm sorry I wasn't here to let you know that(maybe you'll be back sometime, or at least peek in once in a while). Though I remember you, mainly from 2014, I do remember you wrote some wonderful poetry.
Sincerely,
Cat
