For my working out routine On bellydancing I am keen! Can I swivel, can I sway? Yes, I've got that part, okay.
'Tis my arms that need follow or this dance shall ring too hollow. Graceful, lithe and smooth... I'll eventually find that groove.
I'll strive to keep at it, yes! Working hard to do my best. As I'm moving, I do wonder Should my man come in from yonder Will he glance at my dance, will it put him in a trance?
Oh, dear, I do fear! This distraction I did ponder, it has made me twirl asunder. Now in vain's my dream so dear For I've fallen on my rear....

About this poem:
On my recent trip back from the U.S., I did manage to bring back my Bellydance workout DVD, my portable DVD player & even another voltage converter... So this challenge is quite timely --& I've managed to get to just the start of the arm & hand movements... & the ending on this poem is fictional(I hope..)

I love it !, great to see you posing :

Aww... thank you, Girlygirl!! (I'm just chillin' from all the studying I did for the test I discovered upon my return here- and I had to pass before getting permanent visa- and I passed-Yay!) Now I wonder - did you mean to say Posing or Posting(cause I know my dancing isn't graceful... so maybe you meant 'posing' )

my auto check is a night mare.....and I mean Male.....those voices that echo from all directions....never be confused with Royal Mail

Lovely Catlyn hope you are able to master it and hold your man in a trance.Thank you for rising to the challenge in your own sweet way.

We want belly dance! We want belly dance!
SCatlynOPBrecon, South Glamorgan, Wales UKAug 26, 2014
Thank you so much for the comments, Niah! Oh, I just figured maile was N.Zealand speak for male anyway! ( However, as you say, not to be mixed up with the Royal Mail...which I actually did do one time- well, hopefully it was only 1 time, in e-mail to an e-malee )
I love living in Wales(& as I mentioned on your 'Daffodil' poem, will have to add more to this & that later. *BTW- that poem helped on the test- it asked for the name of the poet associated with a poem about daffodils...and I remembered your poem-so So Much!! )
Also looking forward to reading & commenting on other bellydance challenges(but first I have to finish applying for permanent visa & all that jazz).
So will be back... sometime to do so. Oh, and just curious - b/c you're a pro dancer, I was wondering if you ever got into the bellydancing area?
Thanks again!! SCat

Aww... thanks so much, Paloma, for your very kind comments... and the challenge. (I'm a lover of poetry, but basically not a poet - however, I love challenges - they're fun, plus give me an idea of something to write about ).
Also, been wanting to say, I just love your photo from an earlier time - so cute, so pretty & look like such a fun person! (Which has been noticeable all along, but that's just a delightful pic of you!)
SCatlyn
p.s.I will continue to work at that bellydancing- it's beautiful & fun!
SCatlynOPBrecon, South Glamorgan, Wales UKAug 26, 2014
Paloma!!! Well, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I didn't know you were here when I posted the previous comment.
That's fantastic!!! I'll have all of it soon(the process has been much easier this time around) - and then I'll be back at trying to master a little of the art of dance(I think enough at least to 'put my man in a trance' lol)
Thanks for stopping by and sharing that!! Great news!!! XO Cat

Dear Cafe Jim,
So all those Bellydance titles caught your eye, eh?
Well, guess I can't blame you. As far as putting on a dance(do you have a practice room in that castle for people like me- fit, fairly flexible but need to practice the finer points of the art?... actually, I suspect you are now going to adapt one of those rooms for just that purpose )
Yes, go Cat go, I will - but for public viewing, I think not.
On the other hand, I think it's very hot to see a man 'get down' on the dance floor, with or without a partner, no matter his age, weight, looks - if he can move to the rhythm - it's all good(my opinion anyway).
Which leads me to address your 2nd comment-BRB
And seriously, thank you for the comments, Cafe Jim!!!
p.s.If you could add a padded area to part of the practice floor... would be much appreciated
cafetwo2010Harford county, Maryland USAAug 27, 2014
Yes dear. It just so happens that we're finishing up construction at the castle which will be the Belly Dance Cafe. We've spared no expense. The Belly Dance cafe will have its grand opening which will consist of 12 belly dancers emerging in the midst of a colorful water fall. All dancers welcome and may want to post a video of their artistic style. I will be the swish, twitch and swirl judge as I have received my move and groove license at the local bar..oops..I mean from near and far. So let it be written. So let it be done. Cafe

Nice rhyme scheme SCatlyn. Loved the witty ending, be careful you could break a hip. Enjoyed this very much.

Aha, Mr. Cafe! I thought so(and what an appropriate name, I must say ).
It's very generous of you to think of us and to do this for us (sorry-couldn't help it really....)
...as I was saying, it's great to have such a place to go without having to be expert at it, so thank you!
Just to let you know - I will want to see that license if I should happen to stop by(which will happen only if I improve at my dance).

p.s.Hmmm.... I'm sure your doc knows what's behind the emotes in the line-up.... (just curious..)
Cool write SCatlyn..Thanks for your kind visits to my page!

Awww... thank you so much for enjoying and commenting, PoetNumber1. Also for the thoughtful words of caution - you're so right about that ... and if that did happen, my wiggle would be out of commission for some time! Thanks again for stopping by and for making me laugh as well!

Thanks so much for your comment, Diana! I'm so glad you enjoyed it - your Bellydance poem was awesome! And I love how you describe the groove & rhythm - it's that rhythm/arm coordination that's gonna take me some time(don't wanna end up twirling one way while the arms go the other & end up with the hips out of commission, as Poet1 advised )
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Paloma! Well, it's a picture in which I believe you're wearing turquoise/gold arm covers(not sure actually what the correct term would be , but very decorative)... and I think it left your profile just as I was writing that comment, so am going on memory. I did figure, that, even though you have such a cute smile in that pic, it wouldn't necessarily mean you always felt that way- and maybe not even before or after the pic was taken, cuz I've been the same way in pics from the past. But you're a very kind person, and yes, cheerful, or at least you cheer others up, that's for sure! So it was wonderful to get a glimpse of you looking so happy, and your current pic is beautiful as well...
Wishing the very best for you, Paloma Lyn

P.S.Forgot to add, thank you for your kind comments... and I thought about that very thing a few days after your challenge - that is, the Hawaiian dance. I've always been fascinated by it whenever I've seen it (don't intend to try it, mind you, but is mesmerizing).

Hi Wayne! Nice to meet you Thanks so much for dropping in & reading - really appreciate it!!
And, well... thanks so much for the encouragement!!! (Though, I'm pretty sure no one would be watching, unless I was the only one doing the dancing )
Thanks again! Catlyn

Aww... thank you so much for the awesome comment, Ken! And you're very welcome! (And I'm pretty sure you wrote a belly dance poem-if you did, I know... somehow that I read it- but can't remember if I commented, as I've read lots of poems I haven't gotten back to yet & am very SCatterbrained.)
Will go & check on that now, and Thanks again! SCatlyn
