I open my ears See through my eyes Feel with my heart Keep simple mind.
Yet the record seems broken In the where about's of y'all.
Geographical placement Can't make you immune It's a time that's found place With handle like bars.
The past one hundred Leaps upon bounds Not privy to us Wise elders they watch.
Key cards arranged Passaged by code Each day passes Turmoiled unrest.
While the next card Desired By those one's Passing days.
There was a time when we asked What our purpose is here I'd thought for a time A place to behold.
I ventured our new ways Think I didn't like it much It was way off the wall A friend, with no touch.

About this poem:
At times of think of where we are going with technology at the helm, that we all subscribe too. As I see this the life I knew of good friends and good social has only a place to show in our wake. I may be wrong, yet I know I'm right.
Hi Bentlee...it's always a choice....sometimes it's our ties to the past belief that hold us back. I think there is another way...but it is not the norm. Perhaps some day...more will flock to the real.

hi bentlee, in becoming so connected many have become terribly disconnected. i'm hoping that very space of intense disconnection that so many of us have come to experience is the very energy that will draw us back to ourselves and to one another
ty Jazzy and BeautU, somehow I missed your replies, my apology. Cool replies, ty for your thoughts on this. I truly hope one day people will find their way back to a closer society........
I don't think things are that desperate, Bentlee, this happens to be just another phase, when old-fashioned relations are being modified due to circumstances you describe. There's another, good side to technological progress - people of the world are being drawn closer because we've actually achieved all the things the poet predicted: "...bridge the seas, Or ride secure the cruel sky, Or build consummate palaces Of metal or of masonry" and many more, which helped me personally to address you, dear poet, from nowadays, not past, and say: "Since I can never see your face, And never shake you by the hand, I send my soul through time and space To greet you. You will understand." (James Elroy Flecker)
Many thanks for sharing this poem with us, kindest regards!
