Gone as the colors faded The cold clouds departed Cast in shadows is the darkness Where no mind rests as much as death
Where have all the rainbows gone When morning weeps like tears As black as blue becomes So becomes life without you As gray as day becomes night I’m begging you to come home
You never know when a departure becomes an arrival. Don't let sadness cover your sky. The storm will pass and sunshine will light again. Thanks for sharing. SM
Kathy, We are surrounded by shards of old bones, pottery, sea glass...... remnants of lives come and gone....and yet seldom do we even notice or acknowledge their presence. When I was a teenager I was fascinated with the world of Archeology, especially ancient shipwrecks.

Hi Yankee.....You'd love the Hokianga. It's a shallow harbour with sand bars stopping any boats/ships entering unless suitable in shallow water, but once in the 1800's there was a boat builders there, using the Kauri trees floated down from the local forest as Henry the 8th used oak trees floated to a spot on the Thames where his naval ships were built. I have a special bond with the area but like the rest of west coast of NZ, many ships became wrecks. Raised on the Thames I realised the link with the town a few miles from where I was raised, but from a seafarer family I recall the Goodwin Sands history and wrecks. I do of course write social history. Kathy
Writing allows one to express themselves through the written word. This is a great way to release pent up emotion ...They may be gone, but do live in our hearts...(loved ones)::cheers:
